About Jack

Co-owner of Triomph, Jack believes fitness, health, and wellness, should be a lifestyle, not a quick fix. Certified personal trainer and class instructor, Jack is adept at using the body as it's own "workout machine", he rarely trains clients with "traditional" equipment, and chooses instead to have them perform a variety of exercises (Hybrid/Obstacle Course training) such as push ups, squats, planks, pull-ups, lunges, etc...Having grown up on military bases (his father was in the military for 25 years), Jack embraces the 'Excuses Are the Nails That Build a House of Failure!' philosophy of training.

I'm grateful for the attention and motivation of Jack and Lateef, and for the support of the Triomph community for making these results possible for me (and so freaking quickly!). Go Triomph!

I stopped in at Triomph about 3 or 4 times before I actually joined. I wasn't convinced that I could squeeze personal training sessions or classes into my busy and always changing freelance schedule. I enjoyed practicing Bikram yoga, but I found the time commitment too much to stick to with the necessary consistency. I was turning 40 and getting married and a close friend had recently suffered through a serious health crisis. I was about 25 pounds overweight and I needed to do something. I sat down with Jack who listened to my goals and the various obstacles my schedule presented and he advised me to sign up for Triomph's weekly one-on-one 30-minute personal training plan. I wasn't sure that 30 minutes would be enough of a workout, but Jack told me not to worry about that, and I could tell by his devilish grin that I'd be working hard in those sessions. My initial sessions were extremely challenging. I was throwing medicine balls, running and/or crawling across the gym, doing all manner of push up and sit up variations, and generally getting my ass kicked performing very creative exercises that worked most of my body at once. I would do a set and spend about five minutes huffing and puffing before I had recovered enough to do the next one. As the weeks went on I found myself gaining strength and needing less and less recovery time. I am now 15 weeks in, and I have lost 15 pounds. Today I feel much stronger and I am motivated by the progress I have made at the gym. The workouts aren't any less challenging, but I am better able to meet those challenges. My wedding is this weekend and I weigh less than I have in a decade.

Just finished a 4 mile race and ran the whole thing! Thanks to Jack and Triomph for all the training. I can't believe how in shape I am. Feels awesome!
