About five years ago, I reached a point in my life where I was overweight, inactive and extremely unhealthy. I was taking six different medications and a weekly injection. My health was in jeopardy and I had to do something. So, I embarked on a weight loss and exercise program. It was extremely effective and in 18 months I had lost almost 70 pounds, got off my medication and was walking over 10,000 steps a day. But then I remembered that I had been down this road before. Gained weight, lost weight, gained weight, lost weight. This time I decided to do something different. In the past I would see that final weight loss number as my goal, my end. This time I realized that my weight was not my goal, but rather the beginning of my next step – staying healthy. In an effort to stay healthy, I took up running. Those of you who know me, know that this has become a way of life for me. I started off with the goal of running a 5K. After a month of walking and running mixed together, I ran my first 5K. That was Memorial Day 2021. Since then I have run close to twenty 5Ks, several 10 mile races, some half-marathons and at the age of 50, I completed my first marathon. Twenty-eight days later, I ran my second marathon. I am now in training for my third. I guess I tell this story to let people know that no matter your age or ability, you can transform your body and your life. And now I want to help people reach their personal health and fitness goals. So whether you are new to exercise, have been exercising for a while or just need to get back into the habit of exercise, as an ISSA certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach I can help. I will sit with you and help design a workout and nutrition plan that works for you. I will motivate and encourage you to reach your goals.
