About Becky
I help women lose fat, gain strength, and feel good in their skin with practical and healthy methods tailored to their goals, preferences, and lifestyles. You are unique, and your program and coaching should be too.
I train clients in their homes and outside in local parks, using a variety of implements -- dumbbells, resistance bands, kettlebells, sandbags, and TRX suspension trainer. I also give them downloadedable resources, like a restaurant guide, a protein shake how-to, a dynamic warm-up cheatsheet, and nutrition handbook, among others.
I've always been athletic, playing soccer and other sports, snow skiing, and running from a young age. I continued playing soccer into college and coached several youth and high school teams. I've completed 8 half-marathons and countless 5Ks, 10Ks, and 15Ks over the years. I competed in a bodybuilding competition in 2014, placing 4th in the Novice class. This competition was me really leaning into discomfort, as I'm naturally a shy introvert, and the thought of getting on stage in a teeny tiny bikini and stripper heels was terrifying! It was an amazing learning experience and gave me confidence to do other things that scared me.
This is what I like to stress to clients and in my blog posts and emails --- when you attempt to do the things that make you nervous and scared, you build confidence and competence. This feed forward cycle just keeps going and affects every area of your life. Action creates motivation.
My favorite client story
Angela was a 30-something mother of 2 who wanted to lose weight, boost energy, and just feel confident in her own skin. She had never lifted weights before, but was eager to learn. After several months working with me, she decided that she wanted to run a half-marathon, even though she'd never been a runner before. After helping her train injury-free for her race, I was so proud to see her cross that finish line! I'd never seen her smile that big!
My favorite exercise
Glute Bridge/Hip Thrust --- Not only is it knee-friendly, it is the single best exercise for building strong and sexy glutes. Strong glutes look good in jeans and make everyday life a lot easier! From improving athletic performance to boosting fat burning (more glute muscle = more calories burned) to helping to prevent back pain and injury.
My favorite quote
"If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you."
My training philosophy
I believe fitness should be fun and that reaching your goals shouldn't require suffering, major sacrifice, or overhauling your entire life. I teach my clients how to integrate healthy habits into their lifestyle with practical tips and tactics. I believe your workout plan and diet should be sustainable for the long haul and be tailored to you. I'm also a big believer in the power of mindset in the success of body transformation. You can't change your habits or your body without believing that you can do it and believing that you are worthy of it.
My training experience
Over the past decade, I've worked with mostly women of all ages, with goals ranging from fat loss to strength to sports performance to general health and boosting energy and well-being. I've worked everywhere from big box gyms to small gyms to outdoor bootcamps to in my clients' homes. I've also coached youth soccer.
Fitness is my life-long passion, and there's nothing I love more than sharing that love with women and helping them discover their own inner athlete and innate power. The strength they build in the gym always carries over into the rest of their lives, which is so exciting to see.
