Fitness Experience: I’ve been what could be considered a “gym rat” since my mid-20’s. Pursuing fitness as a vocation in my later years is a meandering outgrowth of that orientation. Result: 12+ years of experience of small and large group fitness, personal training, and martial arts instruction.
Personal Accomplishments: I’ve managed to lose/keep off some 60 lbs., most of it done past age 45. I started training in martial arts at age 40, achieved 2nd degree black belt in Japanese swordsmanship, cross-trained in karate, escrima, and bo staff (and have instructor credentials in these areas as well). I received my bachelor’s degree and all my training certifications after age 50 (translation: it’s never too late! ;-).

Education:NSCA-CSCS, NASM-CES, Bachelor of Science, Psychology, summa cum laude. My interests and studies in psychology revolved around mind/body interactions (a.k.a., psychoneuroimmunology), motivation, stress responses (physical and psychological).

I was born in Birmingham, England in 1945, just at the end of WW11. My journey in the USA started in 1985 when I obtained a green card. From then, I become a very proud naturalized citizen in 1996.
My work experience varies from 20 + years of teaching in England, Europe and the USA to a GIS specialist/Senior Engineering Technician in transmission design for a large utility company.
In 2008, I quit smoking after forty years, but the year following, I put on forty pounds!!!
After I retired in 2009, I decided that having to buy an even bigger size pants was not an option and signed up with a gym and a trainer. It took almost another year to lose that extra weight.
After two years, I realized that I too could help people and that led to me becoming a personal trainer.
I have equipment in my home for cardio, resistance and weights. I can also come to your home or apartment.

I am 43 years of age and living in Arizona. I am degreed from ASU and have completed a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. My career goal is integrate nutrition, fitness and medicine to foster ultimate health. I have dedicated my life to competitive bodybuilding and power lifting. I began competing over twenty years ago and have done over sixty contests and three dozen power meets. I have also done amateur strongman and odd lift meets. I have an incredible passion for the strength sports - it is not a hobby but a way of life. I am never satisfied and always seeking the latest knowledge. I am a running enthusiast who has competed in races from 5k's up to the full-monty marathon. I love to run and use it balance out my time as a beginning elementary school band teacher. A typical session starts with a nice warm-up followed by various styles of running from hill climbing to fartleks to casual long runs. Cross-training is incorporated to prevent injury and balance out the rush of running.
I like to work with people who are motivated by the process rather than the end result and who aren't afraid to embrace something new and different from what they've known.
