Hey, I'm Jenna, personal trainer & nutrition coach on a mission to inspire & educate women to step into the strongest versions of themselves!

 

I've long since loved the health and wellness industry - I started out playing sports throughout my childhood and into my early adulthood, which sparked my interest in how the body moves, changes, adapts, and thrives in our everyday environment! At the end of 2018, I found my true passion to be in the fitness industry, so I started teaching group exercise classes at my local YMCA. In the early part of 2019 I realized I could build on my coaching technique and so I began studying for my Personal Training Certification. Since June of 2019, I've been an active personal trainer, as well as, a group ex instructor at various gyms around Charlotte... reaching from the University area to Matthews. As a trainer, I've worked with a number of clients ranging from the ages of 25-60 years old. My programming is pretty straightforward - I work my clients through a number of varied phases (some examples are stabilization, strength endurance, hypertrophy, power, etc.) to ensure the program is tailored to their needs and goals. I always make sure to touch on balance, core, and resistance training to ensure a well-rounded workout, as well! As your personal trainer, I would take the time to listen to your goals/needs and tailor a program specific to YOU! 


My favorite exercise

Lower body - any single-leg movement with heavy weight... never fails to fire up the legs and build muscle.
Upper body - LOVE an overhead press... so challenging but in the best way!
Core - the bodysaw... if you've never done these before, oh baby, they do some damage.

My training philosophy

I believe training should make your daily life better and stronger through simple & functional practices. Training should be fun and effective while leaving you feeling better than when you started. In my programs you will find variations of the basics that are scalable over several months and years. I believe consistency and incremental increases are the keys to success.

My training experience

I've been a trainer for 3+ years now and have worked with varying levels of clients from beginner to advanced. I've continued to educate myself via various accredited programs - more particularly becoming a Certified Functional Strength Coach, which a lot of my programming knowledge is built from.

I have been working with Jenna for over 4 months now and would definitely recommend her as a personal trainer and coach. She is super flexible in scheduling and understands when a session needs to be moved. Jenna meets with me once a week and creates a monthly workout plan to guide me on the days we don't meet. She is always open to tailoring my workouts to meet my abilities, goals, and health needs and wants my input each week to make sure I also enjoy what I do. She is able to find the perfect balance of pushing me and encouraging me. Jenna is also always available to answer questions when I am working out without her, and she sends me videos of how an exercise should look. Jenna is extremely knowledgable in nutrition/eating habits, workout plans/exercises, and how the body works/moves. She can explain the rationale behind any workout. I have done session with Jenna in-person and virtually and both are great.
