Wes Clarkson
About Wes
With over five years as an NASM-certified personal trainer, Wes Clarkson brings more than expertise—he brings a lifelong passion for fitness and well-being. A former varsity track and field runner and cross-country cyclist, Wes has dedicated his adult life to training, pushing boundaries, and refining what it means to live a healthy, happy life.
In 2019, Wes took a pivotal step: he earned his NASM CPT certification and committed to sharing his knowledge with others. Believing that everyone deserves to feel strong, vibrant, and fulfilled, he’s made it his mission to guide individuals toward reaching their personal best.
His journey didn’t stop there—earning the Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) credential in 2023 expanded his ability to support clients holistically. Since then, Wes has worked closely with over 50 clients in the Charlotte area, tailoring programs that combine fitness, nutrition, and mindset.
Wes’s next venture, aside from expanding Resilience Fitness, is to achieve the NASM Behavior Change Specialization certification. One of the greatest obstacles to living a healthy lifestyle is not a lack of motivation or ability, but rather developing the right habits. Wes is taking his expertise to the next level so that you can have the best systems in place to accomplish your goals.
Whether you’re just starting out or aiming to break through a plateau, Wes’s approach is grounded in experience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help you thrive. Join him and transform your health journey with guidance rooted in dedication and authenticity.
My favorite client story
I started a client on an upper body workout 1x/week. After just 1 month (4 sessions) she improved her rep count and weight in every single muscle group - chest, back, shoulders, biceps, and triceps!
My favorite exercise
Pull-Ups.
My favorite quote
"Outside of a dog, a man's best friend is a book. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read."
-Groucho Marx
My training philosophy
Balance in all things. The body needs resistance training, cardiovascular endurance, and a mix of flexibility/mobility/and stability in order to function well. Everyone has different preferences and abilities, so it's simply a matter of figuring out a plan that's challenging and enjoyable, plus well-rounded.
My training experience
I played sports throughout childhood and ran track & cross country in high school. In college I participated in a 74-day, cross-country cycling event from Seattle, WA to Washtington DC. I began weight training in my garage in 2012 using P90X and have since branched out into other training programs including CrossFit, Orange Theory, F45, and more. Plus, I've put together comprehensive training routines using nothing but YouTube videos!
