About Mike

I have been a trainer since 2004 and have spent the last 20+ years helping people get stronger, move better, and feel more confident in their bodies. My background includes personal training, strength and conditioning, group fitness, youth sport performance, and working with busy adults who want real results without fitness taking over their entire life. I earned my degree from DePaul University, founded my own studio in 2008, and I am currently continuing my education through a master’s program in Applied Exercise Physiology.

My coaching style is supportive, motivating, and very personalized. A typical session with me is structured, efficient, and built around your goals, whether that means getting stronger, improving energy, losing body fat, building consistency, or just feeling better in day-to-day life. I like to blend smart programming with accountability, education, and a little personality, because training should be effective, but it should also be enjoyable.

I have worked with a wide range of clients over the years, from beginners to athletes to busy professionals balancing high-stress schedules. I especially enjoy working with people who are ready to put in the effort and want guidance that is realistic, encouraging, and backed by experience. I became a trainer because I genuinely love helping people grow, not just physically, but mentally too. There is nothing better than seeing someone build confidence and start doing things they did not think they were capable of.

My favorite client story

One of my favorite client stories is not about a quick transformation, but about watching someone completely change the way they saw themselves. They started out unsure, inconsistent, and honestly a little intimidated by the process. Over time, through steady training, small wins, and a lot of consistency, they got stronger, moved better, built confidence, and started carrying themselves differently both inside and outside the gym. Seeing someone realize they are capable of more than they thought is always the best part of what I do.
