About Melissa
Hello! I am Melissa, the proud owner and founder of Making Strydz, LLC, in Castle Rock, CO. I am a veteran, a daughter, a sister, and a cancer survivor. My journey to creating Making Strydz arose from my personal battle with cancer. Since 2005, I have been passionate about health and fitness, but in 2019, I faced unexpected health challenges that led to my diagnosis. After a year filled with tests and hospital visits, doctors discovered a growing mass in my lung and airway. Following a challenging yet successful surgery in November 2021, I recognized the importance of helping others achieve optimal health, especially during difficult times. This experience inspired me to establish Making Strydz, a company focused on empowering individuals to embrace a healthier lifestyle, one stryd at a time. I understand that life can take unexpected turns, and I am here to support and guide you towards a happier and healthier you.

My training philosophy
My approach to training is grounded in the belief that everyone has the potential to achieve their fitness goals and lead a vibrant, fulfilling life. I know that fitness is not one-size-fits-all, and I honor each person's unique journey.

I just recently hit my year milestone working with Melissa, and let me tell you, she's an amazing coach/trainer! I started out in pretty bad shape (physically and mentally) but with Melissa's guidance and thoughtful workouts tailored to my needs I've seen so much improvement over the last year. She is awesome to work with, pushes when you need pushing, and a great motivator! I can't recommend her enough or say too many good things about her training style and adaptability for each of her clients.
I am endurance athlete but never did much weight training. I did some research online and reached out to Melissa at Making Strydz. She was super easy to talk to and did a free evaluation which included medical questions, my habits, lifestyle, experience with weights and what my goals are. I was impressed with how professional and thorough she was. I ended up signing up and it was worth it!!!! I didn't have much flexibility but after working with Melissa, I was able to lift heavy boxes over my head which helps when putting things in the attic and my grip strength also increased. I have worked with other trainers in the past and can say that Melissa is one of the best out there! I just started working with her to get more toned. I feel better and have gotten stronger. She measures every 4 weeks so looking forward to those numbers changing. I highly recommend Making Strydz!!
