About Linda
I serve women 40, 50 and beyond that are unhappy with the way they fit and look in their clothes and feel as though they have lost their sense of youthful energy & body confidence in the aging process.
Fit Training promises to help you reconnect with your fit and healthy self by offering realistic fitness and weight management options with understanding, personalized support and accountability... in the comfort of your own home- VIRTUALLY- online, ANYWHERE.
Backed by time tested, clinically proven workouts and eating strategies and a coach with over 30 years experience helping gals make personal health and fitness improvements, starting with herself. I'm 60 something myself, and no INSTA bikini sensation...
I help address the need for women to realize their personal and professional impact is improved when they are at their physical best, since I understand how easy it is to feel out of control and overwhelmed by mid life fitness, health and energy changes.
Why go to a gym? HOME is where your workout is- we meet VIRTUALLY!
My favorite client story
I have so many that I include in my book: No Ifs Ands or Butts (AMAZON), but here's a favorite:
Sara, an executive recruiter in Manhattan challenged my “take the stairs” suggestion one day. “I work on the 27th floor!” she said with a defiant look on her face, which clearly communicated that hiking 815 steps to her office was out of the question. Of course, it’s my job to help folks move past limiting beliefs, so I suggested she begin conservatively, and take the elevator to the 26th floor and walk the one remaining flight. Sara’s reply? “Huh! I never thought of that. Now, that I can do!”
My favorite exercise
I love to use fitness props...just not the traditional ones!
May fav's are furniture slides, a closet dowel and ... no props at all, just my body weight!
My favorite quote
"You can defy and define your age"
Linda Gottlieb
My training philosophy
My number one suggestion is: Underwhelm yourself. Sometimes folks set unattainable goals that simply make them feel worse when life gets in the way and they "miss" their targets. As a behavior change coach with many years experience in fitness, I Iove to help women, 40, 50 and beyond reclaim their fit and healthy self and zest and zeal for life- and find their waistline in the process- using realistic fitness and weight management strategies in the comfort of their home.
My training experience
I never set out to be a fitness professional. Loving movement, my early years were spent taking dance classes and losing myself in the beat of all kinds of music.
In the early 1980s, I decided to become an aerobic dance instructor. If anyone had told me then that I would be in my 60's and still having fun with fitness, I would have laughed!
However, through the decades I continued to learn about the awesome power of exercise, got involved with Yale University as one of the first Cancer Exercise Trainers in the US and committed to live a fit life myself, and through the decades have helped others do the same.
The best part is watching people, maybe like you, be their personal best. That is my wish for you. Let's get started.

I thought I was the only one battling menopausal issues. It's very interesting to hear that it's normal for everyone's shape to change as we age; especially for women and their abdominal area. Your training gives me comfort in that I know it's normal for women to change as we get older yet the confidence to 'kick it up a notch' so that I can do something about it.
Working with you I surprise myself!
Linda brings the perfect balance of knowledgeable professional and caring friend to working with clients; a combination that is so wonderful. I appreciate you very much.
When you work with Linda as your personal trainer, you can be sure that you will learn to enjoy exercise as part of your life and not just exercise to lose weight in the short term. As a busy mom with a full time job and a chronic back pain, I needed a plan that I can fit into my daily life-style. From day one, Linda understood that and helped me, motivated me to reach my goals. I truly believe that the best thing I did for myself was to have Linda as my personal trainer.
Linda's enthusiasm for fitness is contagions and the statistics reinforce the benefits on both a personal and professional level. I was, perhaps, most astounded by the 70% increase in effective decision making by those who regularly exercise. Amazing!
Told my cancer doctors about working with you and how it made me strong and have more endurance and that I feel so much better I “sparkle” now! They said "Keep it Up!"
Thank you for all of your encouraging emails and reminders. It was nice to have the affirmation and encouragement today as I'm feeling the "pain of the pressure" as my body is being molded. Looking forward to "shining" soon. You are so right about making changes, one at a time.
Reporting in to someone is a motivator for me - no more sitting around and moping, worrying about my disease.
Who would have thought that at my age I plan on being a beautiful bride. Cancer has changed my life forever; it has opened my eyes to what is possible and to enjoy the beauty around me. Sounds so of corny, but I say it with a true heart. I am so happy that I met Linda.
