About Olivia
I’m a Certified Personal Trainer through WITS (World Instructor Training School). As of 2020 I became TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Certified Level 1 to help local golfers improve their swing. I have been group instructing and personal training since 2017. Most of my background is in strength training. I grew up playing multiple sports including soccer, volleyball and tennis. I'm the eldest of seven kids. Before I started training I taught preschool ages 2-4 years. I am originally from a small town in Michigan and reside in Indianapolis with my husband, our dogs and cat.
Currently I am not traveling to clients' homes for training sessions. I offer virtual and in person training at the gym of my choice which is listed under the training location tab.
My favorite client story
I have worked with a client who has neuropathy for almost a year. Walking and getting up and down is a daily struggle for this client. After a couple months of exercising said client finally perfected their squat to the bench WITH WEIGHT!! To some this may not seem like much, but for someone who has to use a cane or anything nearby for balance, this is huge. I have never seen a client so happy before. It has been one of the most memorable moments in my training career.
My favorite exercise
I don't have one particular favorite exercise. I do greatly enjoy core workouts though. Back when I trained in a corporate gym my core classes were widely known because I like to push clients hard when it comes to training your abs.
My favorite quote
"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
My training philosophy
I believe in making fitness a lifestyle that can be fun and rewarding. Let's make muscles, not excuses!
My training experience
I started off in a corporate gym teaching group fitness classes to members. After a couple years I started loosing focus on why I became a trainer. I greatly enjoy being able to help my clients accomplish their goals which is why I decided to start my own training business called Zero Excuses Training. I still teach a few group classes every week, but I enjoy one on one personal training much more.
