Hi, I am EM. I have always had a problem with my health, losing weight, and staying on the right track of eating healthy. While I have developed health during my journey, it wasn't until those health issues became serious that I knew I had to start making some serious changes in my life. Andrew helped change all of it for me. I had developed type 2 diabetes, and, in order to keep it under control, I needed to lose a significant amount of weigh (I started out at 325 pounds) that was causing severe pain in both my knees. My weight was also causing my A1c to skyrocket out of control. My doctors had told me that I seriously needed to do change my diet and activity levels or the next visit they would be handing me an insulin kit. For me, that is exactly when I reached my point that I knew I needed help. So one day I talked with Andrew, explaining to him how much pain I was in and what the doctor had told me, and how I needed guidance. He began to talk with me about the importance of healthy eating and exercise. He convinced me to take back control of my weight, introducing me to daily accountability on living a much healthier lifestyle. It started out with an exercise and meal plan that worked for me and my busy work schedule. He checked on my progress weekly and was available whenever I had some rough days (sometimes I just needed someone to listen and get me back on the right track). It took 5 years to turn my life around to live a much healthier life. I went from weighing 325 pounds to weighing 135 pounds by eating healthy and exercising daily. I found that working with Andrew gave me the encouragement and expertise I needed to believe in myself to live a much healthier life.
I worked with Andrew to train for the United States Naval Academy fitness test. I had earned an acceptance conditional on me passing the fitness test before I tore my ACL playing soccer and required surgical reconstruction. After my surgery I completed physical therapy to the point where I could walk unimpeded. I then contacted Andrew and he developed a workout plan for me. Over the next two months Andrew trained me to develop my strength to the point where I could pass the test. He gave me advice about my diet and instructed me regarding proper technique, which was particularly important as I had never worked out in the gym before training with Andrew. Andrew's advice and encouragement were absolutely critical to my meeting my goal - I could not have done it without him. I highly recommend Andrew as a trainer.
