VerifiedAbout Bekah
I am a paddler (dragon boat, outrigger and stand up paddle board), a runner (marathons and ultra marathons) and mom. I have been a personal trainer since 2018 and absolutely love it! I like to learn what my clients fitness goals are, and what their exercise preferences are before programming their training. The more details my clients give me, the better chances we have of achieving their fitness goals. I’ve worked with clients ranging in ages from 14 -85, from lifelong athletes to those who’ve never stepped foot in a gym before. I believe that exercise is for everyone, and everyone can live a healthier lifestyle if introduced to it properly. A typical session with me begins with a dynamic warm up, followed by the work portion of the session, and finishing with light stretching and myofascial release.
My favorite client story
I once had a client who had tried desperately for over a decade to lose weight. She worked with a half a dozen trainers, and tried every diet available to no avail. We spent the first few sessions going over what she enjoyed, what she disliked, and how much time she could consistently dedicate to exercise during the week. Within one year she had lost 40lbs, and within 3 years she was maintaining a healthy weight.
My favorite exercise
I love any exercise with kettlebells! They are extremely versatile and require minimal space.
My favorite quote
“You just can’t beat the person who never gives up” Babe Ruth
My training philosophy
I believe that our bodies were designed to move, and that everyone can enjoy fitness. I think that a huge hindrance to fitness is trainers not listening to their clients. I do my best to hear what my clients likes, dislikes, goals and needs are and then design their training program around their individual needs.
My training experience
I have been training clients since 2018. I’ve worked with people ages 16-84, and have had experience coaching competitive teams as well.
