My training philosophy
Balance can be defined as one's ability to control his or her body position, either while in motion during activities of daily living, or while holding stationary poses inspired by gymnastics or yoga.
When one thinks of fitness and exercise, images of the traditional gym with treadmills, weight machines and big, bulky guys walking around tend to come to mind. Yes, going to lift weights and run the treadmill can challenge your body and is a way of developing a healthy lifestyle. However, this traditional way of exercise can be tedious, lead to boredom, and ultimately, lead to a relapse in exercise.
Balance training, isometric holds and body-weight exercise (calisthenics) is another way of approaching fitness and exercise without the fear one may associate with going to the traditional gym, and can lead to very high levels of body awareness that one would think impossible. There are so many benefits that can be reaped from this type of training, from the typical physical and mental improvements, to the ultimate reward: mastery of the body you have.
