About Aarin

I’ve been an athlete my entire life. From club soccer to competitive water polo to collegiate rugby at the University of Southern California, exercise and fitness have  always been an important pillar in my life. After being diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2017, I struggled with finding ways to maintain my fitness. Doing functional tasks like carrying groceries up two flights of stairs proved to be challenging. Wanting to educate and help myself get back to an active and self-sufficient lifestyle, I decided to pursue an education in personal fitness. In 2018 I earned my personal training certification from the American Council of Exercise (ACE).

With my new fitness education I trained myself from carrying groceries up the stairs to getting back to running a10K races. Soon thereafter I  also started training clients in Los Angeles, California, including those with fellow auto-immune diseases, showing them that a self-sufficient and active lifestyle is possible. Always wanting to expand my knowledge, I decided to dive into nutritional studies completed my Nutritional Coaching certification in 2020 from ACE. I also completed my CrossFit® Level 1 training and became a CF-L1 Trainer in 2022.

From 2021-2022 I studied Applied Function Science (AFS) during my time at an esteemed sports rehab and physical therapy clinic in San Diego, California. AFS emphasizes three dimensional functional movement and mobility which mirrors how we move in daily life.

When I’m not working out at my home gym you can catch me surfing, hiking, camping out of my rooftop tent (my dream is to hit every National Park in my lifetime) loving up on my Labrador Retriever mix Jesse, cooking healthy meals and dancing the night away with my friends under the techno disco ball.

My favorite client story

CLIENT REVIEW: I initially reached out to Aarin due to my sleeping issues, which I’ve struggled with for as long as I can remember. I’d seen her IG posts on the importance of sleep and a holistic approach to health and fitness, which seemed different from other fitness programs I’d researched. During our initial call, she really took the time to listen to my reservations and worries, given that I had a complicated, rather toxic relationship to my body, physical fitness, and food. I’m happy to say that after working with Aarin these past few months, I’ve been able to find a lot of joy in creating new healthy habits. With the new tools she’s given me, I’ve seen a huge improvement in my overall wellbeing. I’m especially grateful to partner with Aarin on my nutrition. At first, I’d been nervous about food journaling each week, but Aarin always comes into our sessions with a positive energy, while also making sure to hold me accountable to my goals. I love that she always brings new food or recipes ideas to me so that we can find what works for my lifestyle. She has always emphasized building habits rather than adhering to a specific diet. The kindness she shows me makes me want to extend that same kindness to myself and my body! - S.C.

SQUAT! So functional!

My favorite quote

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
