My favorite client story

While I have many success stories from my time coaching, the one that comes to mind most is the success of one particular client who came to me 3 months post-partum with her second child. She was an athlete in school and always had a strong affinity for fitness. Her second pregnancy changed her body in ways that convinced her she might never bounce back. She had about 20 excess pounds that she wanted to lose to bring her back to her pre-pregnancy 6-pack.
We got to work, starting with two days a week before sunrise. She was put on a custom diet plan that she adhered to completely. When she was feeling up to it, she worked up to three sessions per week and committed to getting some form of movement in the remaining days, including on recovery days. In 3.5 months, she lost 25 lbs (more than her goal) and was stronger than she was pre-pregnancy. Her core strength has increased significantly which is always a challenge for new moms. Now, she regularly carries two toddlers and her grocery bags up flights of stairs like the boss that she is!

We are currently in our maintenance phase for her and she is even considering participating in a fitness competition next year!

My favorite exercise

I love teaching deadlift variations. In my experience, deadlifts are one of the most challenging exercises to teach because of the number of factors in play and cues that must be conveyed and perfected by the performer in order to recruit the correct muscles and avoid strain or injury to the common areas (low back, shoulders, knees, etc.)

My training experience

I've been 1-on-1 coaching and teaching group fitness for over 3 years. To date, I have worked with over 500 fitness enthusiasts in all formats. These individuals all came to me with different baselines, health conditions, limitations, and ages, quickly expanding my areas of expertise.

My education began almost 5 years ago. I spent over a year studying for my NASM certification so I would know the source material at an expert level. And, I am always studying and absorbing more. Coming from a family of medical professionals, I take my knowledge and programming very seriously. The utmost care is put into building fitness plans that yield results and ensure health concerns or limitations are considered seriously.

I have worked with her for quite some time and she really focuses on functional movement and is huge on perfect form, where I notice a lot of trainers lack knowledge in proper form she excels. I used to have back pain lifting legs and Deja fixed all of that with proper form. She is also a knowledgeable nutrition coach. I highly recommend booking a session with her if you really want to get in shape but feel like you know what you’re doing in the gym. She also does online programs too for anyone interested in working out with her who cannot access her in person! Run don’t walk! You won’t regret it!
