About Jason
Living a healthy, active lifestyle has been something that I adopted over the years. I've been involved in sports throughout my entire childhood and teenage years, where I was naturally exposed to exercise and some of its benefits. Exercising to me was a mental and physical challenge to reach harder fitness goals as time went on. Seeing the physical changes to my body as well as improving my physical capabilities were similar to promotions at a job to me. My love for physical challenge led me to join the United States Marine Corps in July of 2003 and honorably served in the military for six years.
During my years of service, I had developed a mental toughness that far exceeded what it was before. My motivation and determination pushed me beyond my limits. In addition, I became known for my knowledge on the body’s response to exercise, and shared all kinds of health-related advice to fellow service members. Helping others see the benefits of exercise and how much of a positive impact it can have on your life is priceless. This is what prompted me to get certified in what I love to do most. I went from being unconsciously competent to consciously competent, earning a personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise in 2008 and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011.
I've been helping people of all different fitness levels, both men and women, change their lives for over eleven years. We work together as a team by assessing our starting point, setting short/long term goals and cover nutrition thoroughly. Let a professional who understands the physiological responses of the body from exercise help you get in shape today. Let' s design a program that fits your lifestyle.
Remember.. A PLAN WITHOUT ACTION IS JUST A DREAM
My favorite exercise
Deadlift. When performed correctly, it activates more muscles than any other movement pattern out there. Simply stated, you will receive the benefit of doing 5-6 exercises with only one movement pattern.
My favorite quote
"Time and health are two precious assets that we don't recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted."
-Denis Waitley
My training philosophy
We assess your current physical fitness level and capabilities to identify where our starting point will be. Identifying our starting point is crucial so we are not over-training or under-training. From there we will focus on building a strong foundation (core), which is the most important component to overall health and injury prevention. Once you have proper stability and mobility in the joint, we will focus on building strength/performance.
