About Missy

As one of the few trainers in the North Chesterfield area who is working with clients IN PERSON, I am looking forward to meeting you! I am taking new clients at my home private gym which is the perfect space with no judgement or distractions (unless you like dogs, I have many of those who would love to give you some encouraging tail wags while you get your fitness on).


 


 


 


I spent 18 years in the Corporate World, “living the dream” (i.e. I was not fulfilled). At the end of 2017, I finally made a very big change. I left the corporate world and my job as an Associate Director in IT. 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


I took a big leap of faith to pursue the exciting possibilities of starting my own business. I surrendered totally and happily to the universe telling me it was time to follow my heart and my passion.


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


My whole adult life I have been healthy and active. I have always been head over heels in love with working out. I knew it was time to professionally enter the Health and Fitness world. I began my journey by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM in February of 2018, and most recently, I received my Behavior Change Specialist certification.


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


My training style is dependent on the client and what his/her individual goals. Generally speaking, I like to do workouts in 2 parts. The first being a combination of stability, strength and core. The second part tends to be where cardio comes into play while still also focusing on strength work,core and anything and everything to get that heart rate up. I am a big stickler on correct form so that my clients stay safe and can progress smartly. No workout is ever the same and no two clients have the same programming either. It is what I love about Personal Training. It is 100% customized and methodical.

My favorite client story

I have a client who when we started, was very intimidated to work out and lacked confidence. As a result, she was not moving as much as she wanted and was frustrated with herself for "letting herself go". By training with me, she came to look forward to our sessions and prioritized them as part of her self-care. A few months in, she emailed me and requested movements that she had feared when we started like plank jacks and overhead carry.



It has been so amazing to be part of her journey and see her confidence and strength build.

My favorite exercise

I have a lot of favorite exercises for different reasons. I love exercises that get the heart rate up really quickly that also work the entire body like slam balls. I also like movements that have so many ways to constantly make them more and more challenging, like plank holds. There are a ton of variations on them and having a strong core is everything.

My training philosophy

Trust the process and be consistent.

We gain strength and lose weight progressively when we understand that there is a method behind being successful. And bit by bit, every day, we notice changes from increased energy to that quad muscle coming in to rocking jeans we had not worn in years.

Consistency is everything from working out regularly to having good habits with nutrition, recovery and sleep. Training is part of a healthy lifestyle that when we prioritize it, we have the best results.

My training experience

On a personal level, I have done just about everything over the years from kickboxing to running to hiking to CrossFit and lots in between. Fitness has really been the center of my life for decades and it is why I finally honored my true purpose to help others with that too.

I have trained a variety of clients in Los Angeles (and even Virtually! The power of video chat!)
