About Kylie
I have been a trainer for 10+ years. I found my passion for training from being an athlete throughout my whole childhood and then working with athletes at the college level. I have coached volleyball at the college level and basketball and track at the high school level. I have a vast background in training, having worked with many different populations of people, from weight loss to learning to walk again.
My focus and passion remain with athletes at all levels. I work with them to prevent injuries, improve performance, and, if needed, help with rehab and post-rehab.
My favorite client story
I had a running athlete that came in who was told by a doctor they would never run again because of knee pain. This athlete had been a runner their whole life and had never had a history of pain before. I started off with a functional assessment and discovered some muscular imbalances, and first addressed those. After looking at her running mechanics I worked with her to retrain how she ran. It took time but I am happy to say that athlete is running again pain free today.
My favorite exercise
My favorite exercise is the step-up because it is an exercise that has multiple purposes. It is most commonly known for being a knee strengthening exercise. Aside from that I can tell if certain muscles are firing from this exercise. You can also slow it down, speed it up, or change your body positioning on it to work different muscles. On top of all that it also gets the heart rate up.
My favorite quote
"Movement is life."
Movement for the most part increase our quality of life and without it our lives and bodies suffer.
