VerifiedAbout Alexis
I received my ACE CPT in January 2018 and have been personal training ever since. I initially began working at the UMaine Campus Recreation and worked there until March 2020. Working at the campus recreation center, I have had the privilege to work with a variety of people from college students to people in the surrounding area. Besides personal training, I taught small group classes, specialty classes to teach patrons compound lifts, large group exercise classes, and worked with children with weight struggles. I worked predominantly with middle-aged and senior women but was exposed to multiple demographics. I know am located in Seattle, WA working at NW Fitness in First Hill. I have a huge passion for working out and living an active lifestyle and I want to share my passion with people. The reason being that fitness has helped me become not just more body positive but also more confident in everyday activities. It has allowed me to create so many new friends (both in and out of the gym) and do things I never thought I would do, like play rugby. It has added discipline and structure to my life and I want to share that with others. I became a trainer to help people discover their true potential and get past barriers both physically and mentally. I am a firm believer that working out not only makes you healthy but also happier and it helps build confidence. My goal as a trainer is to get you to me confident in the gym and get you to the point where you will no longer need me to tell you what to do.
My favorite client story
I had this one client who came to me during the summer just wanting to stay active and remain healthy. She was a 92-year-old woman who did not really lift weights and used to say that the weight area was "filled with too much testosterone" but by the end of the summer, she realized just how much she enjoyed the free weights. We were able to work on her shoulder mobility and strength so there was no pain, helped make her posture better, and she gained the confidence to go into the weight room by herself
