About Mary
Hello my new friend! I'm Mary, and I am a wholistic personal trainer, health coach, and yoga professional. What do I mean by wholistic? I don't just work with your physical body; I work with your mental, emotional, and energetic bodies as well (unless of course you solely want to work on your physical body, then we just do that!). Together, we will address the Whole You. With my expansive background in training, nutrition, yoga, meditation, and breathwork, I help you cultivate the life, health, and happiness that you want and deserve. I am very empathetic and intuitive, able to pivot and conform our sessions to your exact needs. If you've ever wanted a supportive person's undivided care and attention, you have come to the right person! I am almost done with my 800-hour Yoga Therapy certification which has taken my training abilities to a whole new level.
This is how I view our experiences together...we are equally coming to the table for your highest good. You are the expert of you, and I am the coach who hands you the tools and helps you develop into the person you wish to be. You are the captain of your ship, the master of your voyage; I am your co-pilot and wingwoman who helps you navigate the seas for the most fulfilling journey possible. We have one mission: to help you thrive and live a full and joyful life.
I have worked with a vast array of people of all sorts of health conditions, physical limitations, ages from 10 to 88, and both sexes. It is my preference to work with clients who tend to be neglected or underserved by the training industry. This includes people with multiple health conditions, physical limitations, anxiety, depression, etc.
Some personal info about me: I recently had a baby in 2024 and I'm a dog mama as well. I love nature and being outside (I got a kayak instead of an engagement ring), but I love the indoors too. During the pandemic, I got really into board games. So much fun!! I am loyal to my friends, family, and of course my wonderful clients.
I hope you have an absolutely beautiful week, and I look forward to getting to know you!
My favorite client story
It is impossible to pick just one. I have enjoyed every single client's journey and wins along the way. Whether it's been finally managing that knee pain, getting off the floor more easily, lifting heavy objects, letting go of the hold of a stressful memory, navigating an uncomfortable situation, breathing better, or finding peace and joy in their lives, I have loved every second of every session.
My favorite exercise
Push-ups - everyone can do some variation. Even my 87 year-old client can do them against the wall!
My favorite quote
"A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle."
My training philosophy
You are the expert of you, and I am the expert of the tools. Together, we will create the life and health you want and deserve.
My training experience
As a student at the University of Maryland, I trained many clients of both sexes and all ages from 18 to 74 with a wide range of goals, health issues, and preferences. After taking a break, I am now doing in-home and virtual personal training with an emphasis on partner training, women's health, weight management, mobility, pain management, flexibility, balance, strength building, as well as mental, emotional, and energetic or spiritual practices. I work with all types of health conditions including Parkinson's, high blood pressure, low back pain, post-surgery, joint problems, cerebral palsy, scoliosis, sciatica, shoulder and neck pain, asthma, diabetes, and cancer remission (just to name a few).

Mary was a very motivating and energetic personal trainer. She always had fun workouts planned for me around campus that utilized the nature of the landscape. From running up and down the stairs of Comcast Center to running backwards uphill to lifting weights at the gym, it was never a dull session. I always left feeling refreshed, sweaty and sore for days. I lost 10 lbs in the time I worked out with her and felt more energized. Mary is very effective and drives results in a fun way. I strongly recommend her as a personal trainer.
Mary is very caring and attentive to what each client needs, what their limits are, and how far she can push them. She encourages and motivates me to do better, and yet she knows how much I am capable of. She’s always on time and ready to have a fun workout!
Mary was my first personal trainer (back in my college days) and she definitely gave me a push start to my workout regimens. Sometimes, I would feel my legs pulsing after her intense workouts. She always knew how to encourage me to try harder or go longer to really get a good workout. She is also a very sweet person and a pleasure to work with.
Mary is kind, supportive, knowledgeable and so much more. She gets to know you and your goals and makes them happen. She holds you accountable but also understands that you have a life and is able to help you find a balance so you can stick to the program. Her workouts are challenging but not intimidating. She actually makes working out fun (a sentence I never thought I would say). What I find most impressive is her knowledge of the human body and different work out methods. She is constantly keeping up to date with the latest research and imparting that knowledge to her clients so you are working out smarter not harder. My sister and I are looking forward to many more sessions with Mary.
Mary is an amazing personal trainer! If you're looking for someone to motivate you on your fitness journey, provide knowledgable guidance, and keep you accountable, look no further! Mary was a perfect fit from the very beginning. Highlight: My favorite part of working with Mary is her extensive knowledge of the human body and fitness and her ability to teach me. I love learning the "why" behind the exercises, number of reps, when I increase weight, and when we mix up the homework. It's clear that Mary has a plan and logic behind everything we're doing, which means I've gotten to see results much faster. Consultation: On our consultation call I was able to explain my goals and learn more about her training style, which is highly personalized and focused on sustainable, continuous improvement. At the start of our first session, Mary took extra time to understand my motivations and what success looked like to me. Sessions: The sessions are challenging, but Mary is always very attentive to check in with how I'm feeling and if I have any pain from previous injuries. For me they were a mix of cardio and weight training, but could vary depending on your goal. Mary was also willing to work with me on designing a program that I would enjoy and do consistently. She brings a lot of energy to the sessions and helps motivate me to do "just two more" reps. Results: In the first few weeks, I saw improvement in my muscle strength, cardiovascular endurance, and overall wellness. My goal of just wanting to be fit and "live to 100" wasn't an easy one to define, but Mary was able to craft a workout plan that fit the bill. I was so happy after my initial session package, that I added more.
I have had many Personal Trainers over the years, but Mary stands out as one of the best. She is very energetic, organized, and passionate about Personal Training.
Mary is a great trainer. She is positive, encouraging and never makes you feel bad if you are struggling. She adapts to your needs and really listens to your goals. She tailors the work to any physical limitations, gives you great ideas on alternative exercises, and follows through. Extremely responsive and communicative. My experience with Mary has been great.
Excellent trainer, would use again. She is detailed, kind and supportive, very encouraging.
Mary is excellent, I highly recommend her.
Mary is an amazing personal trainer who shows a clear passion for fitness and makes exercising fun. She created a fitness plan for 4 participants for a fitness study and was able to create a workout that would be challenging, but fun and never got boring. All of the participants showed an improvement, thanks to Mary’s workout plans. She was extremely supportive, knowledgable and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Mary as a personal fitness trainer for anyone who is looking to begin a workout routine or improve on their current workout routine!
Mary Arciero is kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Before starting to work out with her, I was an exercise novice. She has taught me how to exercise in a way that is focused on form and preventing injury. When I started I never imagined that I would soon be able to lift heavyweights. Working with her has helped me prioritize doing daily physical activity, which has not only made my body stronger but has reduced my stress levels and improved my mental health.
Mary is such a fun personal trainer. She keeps you motivated and her videos are great - it feels like she is really in the room with you! She is supportive and caring. It's obvious she has a passion for helping people. Cannot recommend her enough.
When I started working with Mary three years ago, my hip was hurting so much that it caused me to limp and to walk up stairs by placing both feet on each step. Mary gave me exactly the right exercises to eliminate that pain! More recently, chronic inflammation and arthritis have developed in my shoulders, causing severe pain. Once again, Mary has been helping to ease the pain by showing me the exercises that are just right in my current condition. Additionally, my balance and posture are both better, and I am stronger! She is also very patient, very encouraging, and tailors my workout to my age and needs. Mary also coaches me on my nutrition, which needed improvement for sure. I just found out that my cholesterol level has dropped by 30 points! Woohoo! I am an active grandma to my grandkids and Mary is helping me to be able to stay that way!
Mary is such a kind, enthusiastic, and caring trainer. Her knowledge and passion for fitness are apparent in every video or training session. She truly cares for her clients by meeting them where they are and developing a plan to get them to where they want to be. She is also very entertaining and personable which makes the workouts go by quickly!
Mary is the best personal trainer. She started working with me during a difficult time in life. I was very stressed in my job, and Mary would meet me with acceptance of where I was each time I showed up. I remember I did not want to work out, and she suggested we do some yoga to help relieve stress. Mary was always willing to push me when I needed it and help me find happiness for exercise. Mary is excellent, and I am so glad she came into my life when she did. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer or a workout routine. She is the best!
Mary has been such a blessing to me for the past almost two years, as she saw me through infertility treatment, IVF, pregnancy, and becoming a new mom. She has adapted our work together to me as my needs and body have changed, following the rhythms of my life— from my initial weight loss and health goals (incredibly efficient cardio and strength exercises I could do mindlessly while watching Real Housewives after work!), incorporating social support (working out with my sister in law and nieces), to yoga with mindfulness and visualization exercises (to prepare to welcome my embryo into her new ‘home’ full of love and light, the morning of my transfer! ). Mary helped me stay strong and active through pregnancy even as I listened to my body and lightened my routine further and further. Now she is helping me safely get moving again with yoga exercises tailored to my needs (being gentle with my tailbone which I injured in birth) and finding other activities that fit with my lifestyle (exercises incorporating my baby!) The thing I love about Mary is that I can be successful with her, because she designs it that way. Past personal trainers made me feel like I had homework on top of everything else I needed to do, and it became an additional stressor to try to meet their demands. With Mary it feels like the opposite, like it is easier to do everything else I need to do when she is in my life. At times she has anticipated changes I needed to make ( in my goals, or exercise routine, or focus) before they were even on my radar, and helped me grow into the direction I needed next so I was ready when the need arose (like strengthening up my one- handed game and abs before baby!) On a personal note, meeting with Mary feels like having easy, quality time with a dear friend who is truly present and cares.
Working with Mary has been fantastic. My confidence around fitness and health had just been so low lately, but Mary has been so patient with my journey and provided me sustainable options for my future and reframed my relationship with exercise. She helped me get back to my dancing roots, allowing me to see the significance of feel good movement (and a new dance playlist can’t hurt!). Can not recommend her enough for folks that are anxious or new to fitness.
Mary's training video program was a great fit for me because as someone who doesn't exercise regularly, she made it easy to follow along and the videos progressed with foundations she taught. It felt doable with my busy schedule and it built my confidence in my abilities.
Mary is patient & understanding as you learn how to navigate your fitness plan. She creates a plan based on your needs & goals. We all need to stay fit. It is easier with a coach!
I've experienced several yoga classes from Mary Arciero thus far, and it's fantastic to say the least! She is extremely professional and yoga has changed my world. Thank you Mary! She makes it easy, no matter your age or health. There are always great options if you feel you're unable to maneuver a certain pose or exercise. I highly recommend this class to all. I will certainly be a regular in this relaxing and mindful atmosphere.
As a fitness instructor, Mary is a brilliant combination of energetic motivation and calming influence. She is able to both challenge her students to achieve their personal best, while also giving every individual - from beginner to advanced - an array of tools to accommodate injuries, age, fatigue, or any other potential limitation. Regardless of your skillset or prior experience with fitness, Mary is the ideal instructor to keep you returning week after week and adopt a fitness routine into your daily lifestyle.
Mary teaches a weekly one hour virtual yoga class which is absolutely amazing. She is such a great yogi, so warm and welcoming of a diverse group in these weekly virtual classes. She even helped me with some awesome mantra suggestions for a huge 8 day climb I was on this summer in Tanzania! Mary offers yoga and so much more!
I have participated in Mary’s live-streamed yoga classes since early Spring, when she launched her evening series. Her classes are terrific and tailored to all levels, with appropriate modifications demonstrated. In addition to poses, Mary incorporates varying breathing strategies, meditation time, and carefully targeted routines, which differ thematically each time. The classes are perfect for stress release. Mary is talented, professional, passionate, and very congenial. One does not feel as if the teacher is putting on a show to showcase her own expertise or performing canned routines. I love the programs and you will, too! They are a good way for newbies to get their “feet wet,” and for others to progress at their own pace — with all benefiting from establishing inner peace, strength, flexibility and balance.
