About David
Hello! My name is David. I am 29 years old, I am a personal trainer as well as a painter by trade. Playing sports was my entire life, and until I reached High School, I had never set foot into any gym settings other than a gymnasium! During my 8th grade year at my private middle school I was approached by the local Football Coach for the High School team and was promptly told that a 6'3, 240 pound 8th grader would not in fact be playing soccer, but football. Football was an amazing sport for team building, personal growth, fun, and loss. But, the more important of the latter would be lifting sessions both in season and off season. In between seasons I participated in shot-put, and discus. Both sports required resistance training sessions, which made it advantageous for football. By my junior year I was being scouted by quite a few schools, and even a division one team (Umass). Unfortunately my junior year I suffered a major Labral (connective tissue that prevents the Humerus and Scapula from dislocating) tear in my left shoulder which put an end to my college ball dreams, and for a short time my weight lifting goals.
After a 3 year hiatus from the gym I returned. Through the motivation of a friend I began doing workouts again and eventually continued on my own. Fast forward to today I am certainly more relaxed around how I workout, compared to when I am taking it very seriously. But, I can gauge, determine, and be told when a potential trainee (you?) wants a workout that is either very easy or very hard. As we build rapport with each other I can determine over time how our workouts will proceed. My specialty is beginner-intermediate strength training, specifically teaching the 3 mains lifts; Bench Press, Deadlift, and High Bar Squat. I am knowledgeable of many accessories, stretches, and alternate techniques to diversify your workout as well! I have personally trained 14 clients passively throughout my weight lifting career and have followed a simple mentality... Understand these movements so if I am not here you can still workout. I believe that a personal trainer does not have to be a long term solution, and it can be used as a way to acquire some new skills! That will conclude my introduction! I am happy to email or chat so we may both realize what we may be getting into when you start your new journey! :)
