About Samantha

Samantha Sheridan began helping others with their individual health and fitness goals in 2020. Being a mother to a son with Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac Disease not only gave her experience with dietary restrictions and medical awareness but also fueled her passion. In 2021, Samantha received her Nutrition Certification from Shaw Academy and began to implement meal planning and nutrition guidance with clients. She has the knowledge to create individualized meal plans based on a variety of dietary restrictions, including keto/low-carb, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and paleo, as well as planning around food allergies or any other needs. In 2023, Samantha decided to further her education and became a Certified Personal Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). While working in the fitness industry, she gained experience planning custom workout programs for clients training for the military and police academy, as well as those with pre-existing injuries and/or medical conditions, while ensuring the health and safety of her clients. As a CPT, 20 CEUs must be completed every two years. In 2024, Samantha enrolled in not one but two 20-credit CEUs and is now an ISSA Certified Nutritionist and ISSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Martial Arts is also a passion for Samantha. After training for 2 1/2 years in a mixed curriculum of taekwondo, karate, and krav maga, Samantha is currently ranked a red belt and prepping for her first tournament. She will be competing in both point sparring and traditional forms with other martial artists of similar age and rank. With specializations in fat loss, strength training, HIIT, flexibility/mobility training, event prep, and nutrition, there is no “one program fits all!” She works alongside her clients to assess their current fitness levels and set both short-term and long-term goals. Samantha welcomes those who are ready to put their best foot forward in order to make improvements in their lifestyle, accomplish their goals, and be in the best shape of their life while building confidence and self-esteem along the way!

My favorite client story

Prior to starting Legacy Fitness, I was working at a corporate gym. I met a young man who explained to me that he was preparing to join the military but had concerns about the physical fitness portion of the qualifications. He was slim, awkward, and lacked muscle mass. I immediately put his mind at ease as we worked together to structure a training schedule that was ambitious enough to accomplish his goals and feasible in terms of consistency. During our sessions, we had certain things we did every time we met to increase performance in specific areas and various drills that specifically targeted other goals of his. This client put his all into every single workout we did together and far exceeded his own expectations. When it came time for him to perform, he was strong, confident, and surpassing the minimum qualifying guidelines! This client was a true success story!

My training experience

I have experience training individuals of all ages, experience levels, and those with various injuries/medical conditions. I’ve worked with ages as young as 13, seniors, and everything in the middle! I have had clients who are very overweight and have little to no experience working out, and I have helped athletes looking to improve their routine and perfect their form. In addition, I have assisted clients in prepping for physical fitness tests for the military and police academy, runners wanting to improve their time and stamina, and those looking to look and feel better for specific events. There were times when clients had previous or current injuries, and I needed to cautiously design workout plans to prevent further injury and assist in the recovery process as well! Some clients have had medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, thyroid issues, MS, and those in recovery from eating disorders or addiction. I love meeting new people looking to improve their fitness levels and working with them to utilize the right workouts for their needs!

Sam provided me with a killer workout catered to my needs. I have a bad back and have had issues going to the gym in the past because of it. While we worked around the injury, she was also able to teach me some workouts that will help with strengthening my back in the future. Would highly reccomend Sam!

Working with Sammi has been great - she’s organized and knowledgeable, and uses her magic to somehow make the hour go by quickly! Scheduling has been flexible and her ability to travel to you has been so helpful for consistency and accountability. Great energy, creative workouts along with the basics and has been a perfect fit for me and my schedule. Definitely recommend her! (and I’m continuing to see her too!)
