Tonya Tittle, Owner of Energy Fitness


Tonya holds a master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and is an ACSM-certified personal trainer with over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. Active in sports since age 14, she ran cross country and track in college and is a multi-sport athlete who believes that cross-training is essential for muscle balance and consistency.


In addition to her fitness expertise, Tonya is a Licensed Massage Therapist with certifications in cupping, blading, functional movements, and taping. Her extensive nutrition certifications allow her to coach clients toward healthier choices and tailor programs to their individual needs.


Since founding Energy Fitness in 2002, Tonya has brought her passion for fitness and commitment to customer-service excellence to her clients. Originally based in Memphis, TN, the studio relocated to the Greenville/Travelers Rest, SC area in 2020. Clients have benefited from her Energize Method of training, with some working with her for as long as 19 years. Sessions are available both online and onsite.


Tonya’s sessions are primarily semi-private, 30-minute customized personal training sessions that focus on functional movements and working around injuries. Each client undergoes a functional movement and fitness assessment before starting any workout program, with reassessments every six weeks or after 12 workouts. Typically, clients train with her twice a week. Energy Fitness and its staff have helped transform bodies, reduce pain, and get people active to live their best lives.


The first step in working with Tonya or Energy Fitness is a fitness consultation to discuss goals and any health concerns. If it’s a good fit, clients proceed to a pre-assessment using the Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 Screening, which evaluates the quality of their movements. The assessment, including posture analysis and other evaluations, provides a snapshot of the client's fitness level and areas needing improvement.


Programs range from a 5-week kickstart to packages lasting 4.5 to 12 months. While significant progress in 5 weeks is unlikely, this shorter program offers a more approachable starting point for those who need a smaller commitment.

My favorite client story

Having trained thousands of clients, I have countless stories, but I hold a special place in my heart for my older clients. They are the ones who need to be fit to prevent falls, reduce injury and pain, and improve their quality of life. One client, who was 89 years old, shared that when he did fall, he practically bounced back up with minimal side effects—all thanks to the fitness routine we practiced in the gym.
Other clients who didn’t initially enjoy exercise or struggled with exercise ADD have done well with me. They often mention that the variety of exercises keeps things interesting and that having an appointment helps keep them accountable.

My favorite exercise

IT band crossover for spinal flexibility and mobility of hip and hamstring. I also like having clients squat to a bench to get proper form. They can do this with both legs or a harder and more favorite version is a staggered leg as we often have one leg that is stronger. We add weight as they get stronger which is pretty fast.

My training philosophy

Lots of cross training and moving the body in ways that will crossover into being stronger and leaner so you can enjoy life!
It all adds up and doing the things we often don't like are the very things we need. train your weakest link so you can be your best.
