About Cari

I am an experienced weight-loss and transformation specialist with a rich background in nutrition. I believe in using science based methods while working with the individual on what works best for them. I communicate with my clients regularly, and provide the tools and support for life-changing results. My clients enjoy learning about their diets and reshaping their relationship with food, while building lean tissue and the physique that they desire. I don’t just take clients through the workout, I teach clients how to lift effectively and safely, explaining the “why” behind the programming, and work with individuals on exactly how to get the most out of their programming. I push my clients hard, but never past what they’re capable of, ensuring that the workout is eliciting results, without causing injury or harm. 


I care deeply about the wellbeing of everyone, and seek to help anyone who is devoted to their fitness, nutrition and health goals.  


My favorite client story

One story I love and is associated with the “before and after” photo of the 71 year old client on my profile, is when I helped said client overcome pre-diabetes, improve her bone density, and prepare for a 3-month bicycle trip. During the process she lost over 45lbs, reversed the osteopenia in her spine, and finally kicked being pre-diabetic after years of trying, but never seeing results.

She followed the program and trained with me virtually, resulting in a 2lbs/week rate of weight loss with a -1% rate of reduction in body fat each week.

She has maintained her new level of activity and healthy eating habits, and has completed her bicycle tour! It was reported to me that she “…would have never been able to haul such a heavy trailer cross-country on a bicycle without going through the program.”

This 71 year old woman makes me so proud for meeting the challenge of training hard 3x/week, taking a deep dive into her eating and lifestyle habits, and for being willing to step outside her comfort zone to take control of her health and longevity.

My training philosophy

Lift with intention, eat for health and wellbeing, laugh, and watch your body reflect the beauty that’s being cultivated within.

Transformation training, physique training, composition training - they are all about meeting a version of yourself that you know is possible but haven’t yet integrated. They’re about realizing your potential and becoming educated in the ways of maintaining and controlling your own health.
It is NOT about taking short-cuts and food restrictions and obsessing over progress photos. It’s about life AFTER the initial transformation, when you break free from your cocoon and leave your caterpillar life behind to fly carefree as a butterfly.

My training experience

I have worked at a number of high-end gyms such as Equinox and Ultimate Performance. I have received mentorship from published and respected professionals and professional bodybuilders. Additionally, I have had formal training in therapeutic exercise and in-depth assessments including those that reveal: body composition, muscle length, posture and postural deficits, aerobic endurance, muscular strength deficits and maximal strength, balance capabilities, functional movement (FMS), heart rate and blood pressure, and joint-specific range of motion capabilities.

With this, I am trained and experienced in assisted stretching; I offer this as an additional service on a case-by-case basis.

Cari helped me get into the best shape of my life, and incredibly, at 71 years of age! Specifically, following the plan she laid out for me , my pre-diabetes was eliminated. My T-score was improved on dexascan. I built bone in my spine. My chronic hip pain was eliminated. I built significant muscle. I am.now the strongest I have been. My brain benefited from the regular.exercise and inreased muscle. I am an artist. As I worked through Cari's program, I became more creative and more productive. The best part was that I enjoyed working out. I didn't need to use will power to get myself to the gym. Working out felt like a reward. Besides building me an exceptionally effective workout regimen, Cari helped me taylor my diet to my needs, resulting in weight loss of 45#. I went from size 12 to size 4. Cari encouraged me and pushed me a little, but always with respect and understanding that empowered me to stay on track. Yes, I did the work, but I don't think I would have or could have without Cari as my trainer!

I started working out with Cari the past February and have loved it. For the first appointment she took lots of measurements and went over past history for injuries. We discussed what I do and don’t like about working out and what goals I wanted to accomplish. For me I often get discouraged right at the beginning because I tend to get sick if I push too hard. Cari created a personal work out plan for me and it was great. We started out slower and I didn’t get sick. Having the appointment made me go to the gym and Cari made working out way more enjoyable. I lost 10lbs after the first 4 weeks and then she started to teach me about nutrition. Using an app I tracked my food and I could see what my protein, total calories, and water intake were and could then adjust from there. I have a lot of dietary restrictions so it was really helpful to find out what was missing from my diet and what I tended to eat too much of. This whole time though she made sure that we were going at the pace I wanted to. We did measurements every 4 weeks and she would give me a summery each time. Overall I started with a body fat percentage of 32.2% and am now at 20.9% after 4 months! Cari is very knowledgeable about the human body and about nutrition. She cares for people and tailors each program to the individual. She is hands down the best trainer I have ever had.
