About Joy

Hi, I am Joy (Murry) Schultz, owner of Catholic Heart Home Clinical Exercise Physiology (TM) since 2018 for women with their children and families.  On social media, I am known as Catholic Exercise Physiologist.  I have been a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor in Minnesota for about 14+ and 12+ years, since 2012 and 2014. I have been with FYT since 2018. Exercise, fitness, nutrition, health and wellness was my first calling, now my calling is to be a MD Medical Doctor, to help save lives, so I do know how to do CPR and call 911 asap if needed.  I come from a very large farming, law and medical Catholic family on my Dad's side.  My Dad past away tragically from a very traumatic tree trimming accident less than a month before our wedding, he was going to be paralyzed from the chest down, that poor man, he worked so hard all his life and was about to retire and it just ended so hard fir him, I was ready to help him, and people like this can fully recover.  He is pretty incredible and he is one of the main reasons am doing this.  My husband and I have one amazing child.  I started this and promote this in my business as my idea, exercising with your child can be a great way of bonding, a way of 'play', learning how to exercise your body and getting stronger.  I specialize in Preventative, Post Rehab, Senior, Youth, Women, Pre and Post Natal, Functional, Pilates, Aquatic, Behavior Change, Corrective Exercise, Special Needs, Neurological, Cardiac and Medical Health.  I hold a master's degree in clinical exercise physiology with a specialty in exercise testing, VO2 max, cardiac rehab, and I earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology.  Health was really important to me.  In middle school I was a 3 sport athlete, in high school I was a 3 sport starting athlete, in college and my 20s I was a 4 sport starting athlete, marathon runner, and triathlete, running, biking, swimming.  I grew up on a farm, lots of dirt, gravel, hills, rocks, mud, obstacles, pushing, lifting, pulling.  I am looking for dedicated clients that want to see change; clients that want to personal train at least once a week or every other week, or once a month. I will personal train all women, youth, post therapy, post anything medical, special needs, seniors.

God Bless You, Health and Blessings,

Joy

I have had the good fortune to train with Joy for several months now, and I have enjoyed every session. She is wonderful with communication, got a clear sense of my goals before we even met, and is ready with a fresh new workout for me each time. I have made massive progress--much more than I was expecting to--toward my goals in a relatively short period of time, and it's because Joy is knowledgeable, informed, and up-to-date on the latest exercise research. She's not going to be one of those brutal trainers--if you're looking for that, look elsewhere--instead, she's encouraged me to be healthy and low-stress, rethink my relationship with exercise, make it (honestly!) fun for myself, and make it a workable, integral part of my life. I can't thank her enough.

We had a great experience with Joy. She was great working with my 18 year old daughter. Joy kept my daughter on task and motivated.

Joy worked as a personal trainer with my 18 year old daughter. Joy was friendly and kept my daughter motivated through workouts that were suited to my daughter's needs and interests. Then my younger girls ages 16 and 12 also wanted to work with Joy. She agreed to work with them as well and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend her for anyone thinking about a personal trainer of any age.

I had the great pleasure to work with Joy for 12 sessions. I was struggling with pain in my knees and feet. Joy was very thoughtful about listening to my concerns first and then recommended stretches and exercises that help reduce my pain. Joy is very knowledgeable about different forms of exercise. She made a significant effort in creating unique workout plans for me. Joy was gentle enough to care for any joint pains, but she can also motivate you to try harder. She was also fun to talk to and I enjoyed working with her. I highly recommend working with Joy.
