About Coach

Here's the scoop... My name is Coach Matt and I've been a certified personal trainer & nutrition coach for four years! Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you're looking to get to that next level in your training program, I'm here to help! When you work with me, you're getting more than just a personal trainer - you're getting a coach that will motivate you to reach your fitness goals both inside and outside of the gym.


I have experience working with all age groups including youth and senior populations. I'm LGBTQ+ friendly and I am always free of judgment no matter your fitness level!


 


Why should you choose me as your coach?


Because I've been there. The entire reason I became a fitness coach was because of my own experience struggling with losing weight. I felt as if I had tried everything, failing over and over again. Despite these failures however I realized that I actually had complete control over my health and well-being. I just had to find the motivation to stick with it; and once I did, my world changed. I was able to lose 65lbs in a matter of 8 months. Of course, there were hiccups along the way. There was a brief period where I put some weight back on and then lost it again. I learned one huge thing throughout this entire experience. It is quite possible to lose weight on your own. I knew nothing about fitness and nutrition, yet I lost 65lbs. But the biggest thing I learned was that my life would've been so much better if only I had the support of a good fitness coach pointing me in the right direction. I would have lost weight without losing muscle. I would've kept the weight off and prevented myself from having to start over. Fitness coaches are an underrated, underutilized profession and I highly encourage you to find a coach that works for you. 


My goal is to help you make nutritional improvements over time that you can stick with. I prioritize good health & wellness, and I'm the type of coach that actually practices what I preach. I don't push supplements or quick fix solutions like clenses & fad diets. My knowledge of different dieting strategies is vast, and I can recommend a dieting strategy best suited for you.

My training philosophy

I take an informative, educational, and motivational approach. I might try to push you if I know you can do it, but I don't believe in the traditional "no pain, no gain" attitude. Exercise should not be something you dread, it should be something you look forward too. I also try to dispel common myths about training. You'll learn quite a bit by working with me. I want to empower you so that eventually you won't need a coach.

I primarily work with people looking to lose weight, but I've also worked with athletes for performance improvements. I've been coaching for about four years and have a strong nutritional background.

I started working with matt a couple years ago and he now coaches me and my wife. Before my wife and I were married we were wanting to lose a little bit of weight so we could look our best for our wedding. We both put on a few pounds since high school and we didn't want to our old high school friends to not recognize us. I booked matt back in 2022 and not only did he put together exercise programs for me, but he was also willing to talk with me about my dieting efforts. It seemed like he understood why I wasn't losing weight and talked me through some different dieting approaches, gave me the pros and cons of each and let me decide. After I decided he told me exactly what I needed to do and needless to say it was pretty easy for me to lose weight once I had some guidance. My wife saw that I had lost about 10 pounds so she decided she wanted to try working with Matt too. She had been going to some fitness classes at our community center and she hadn't been able to lose any weight. Long story short, I lost about 25 pounds in about 5 months, and she lost about 20 pounds in 3 months. Pretty crazy the progress we were able to make. WOuld definitely recommend Matt to anyone thinking about losing weight.
