In my early 20s…
My life began to prematurely fade right in front of me.
I was experiencing constant illness. I was extremely fatigued. I became dizzier every day. My entire body hurt constantly.
I was creeping closer every day to heart failure. That is when I realized I hit rock bottom. I was going to continue sinking in the quick sand I’ve let myself fall into, or I was going to start climbing out of it now. I was prescribed high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart burn, and congestion medicine. I felt defeated. There had to be more to life than this, right? I was too young to watch my body deteriorate in front of me and do nothing about it. How did I come from a thriving high school football player to this broken body?
I had to make a change.
I dedicated my time and committed my mind to physical fitness. I stood up for my life and consistently fought for myself until I could cancel every prescription. It did not work after one try. It took years of being in a limbo of dieting, working out, trying weight loss products, and giving up — until I finally figured out the secret. There is no secret to a healthy life. It simply took one switch in your gut to say, “I want something else. This isn’t enough for me.” I had to stop lying to myself about where I was. I had to discover and face, head on, everything that was holding me back. Then, I had to start grinding, and never stop. I realized there isn’t a temporary fix to a permanent lifestyle. If you want to be healthy, you have to live healthy – everybody knows that. I had to discover how I could live healthy in a way that I could believe in the process and appreciate it.
This is only the beginning, and I want to help other people reveal the person they truly are by helping them conquer the blanket of bad decisions that try to take control.
