About Bria

I specialize in yoga and Pilates sessions that are customized to YOUR goals and where you are at on any given day. Look elsewhere if you're looking for a cookie-cutter approach! Non-traditional Yoga and Core/Pilates clients are my specialty. I began teaching full-time in 2008, and having taught in gyms and studios my entire career, I can teach virtually anybody, not just the flexy bendy types. "Compassionate Strength" are a couple of words I live and work by. Texas born and raised, Ivy League-educated, and well-traveled, we'll have fun in our sessions while working diligently and mindfully towards your goals. Expect to feel enlivened, stand taller, feel stronger, and feel more healthy space in your body. My favorite client story

There are so many! From clients who have been able to get auto immune conditions symptoms to significantly reduce, to those who have improved their athletic performance, to those who have created a marked increase in self-confidence and calm. All of these stories have one thing in common – the person was willing to commit to the process. Which ultimately means that they have committed to themselves in a consistent way. Inspiring!

My favorite exercise

Bird dog. It simultaneously trains balance, core, and body strength in a functional way.

I also love moves that stretch the side body. Plus moves that offer circular motion in the joints. I think that side body and circumduction based movements are highly underrated and underutilized.

Use your strengths to help you improve in areas where you feel challenged. I combine a customized to each client dose of tough love and compassion. Programming is completely tailored to each client. I don’t do cookie cutter over here!

My training experience

I started my professional Movement teaching career in 2008. My Movement history stretches much further back than that – all the way back to childhood sports and dance classes.

I have been practicing yoga with Bria for more than 8 years, and I can't say enough positive things about her teaching style and her personality in general! Bria is so genuine, kind and non-judgemental. Before I started practicing with her, I liked yoga but didn't love it -- she made me appreciate the balance of mind and body in the practice, made me excited about trying new poses and inversions and does it all with humility and humor! Bria's knowledge about yoga and ability to talk you through a pose and get you thinking about your body in a different way are so appreciated. I'm not sure that I would have been able to master some of the poses and inversions that I can now do if not for her excellent coaching. I have also been on many of Bria's yoga retreats over the years, which are always such a great time with fantastic people. I can't recommend her enough to anyone who wants to go further in their practice!
