About Mark

There isn’t a more frustrating feeling than having a goal but feeling overwhelmed by how to achieve it.

If you're feeling overwhelmed or stuck, I can help.

I started DiSalvo Performance Training in 2015 and have worked with performers at all levels: they come from sports like jiu jitsu, hockey, and wrestling, or are working professionals in business, tech, and law.

I understand that you need to feel your best to be your best, and that's what we aim to do.

I’m an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Sports Performance Expert with a specialty in combat sports. I am also a Steve Maxwell Certified Kettlebell Instructor (Levels 1 & 2).

I am also a lifelong athlete: I played youth hockey competitively for over a decade and have been training jiu jitsu for the last ten years.

My favorite exercise

Squats, with deadlifts as a close second.

My training philosophy

I believe in two ideas when it comes to training, health, and life in general:

1. Those who work hard are rewarded with inspiration and success

2. That when you "know the way broadly, you will see it in all things."
The famous Mushashi quote can be applied to anything. Learn something in one discipline and you'll see similar patterns in your life. We strive to help you make those connections through training.

I can't say enough about Mark as a coach and a trainer. I met Mark when I was 200lbs and barely running a mile. He worked with me to help me achieve my goals and maintain weight loss. I am now training for my second marathon with Mark and I have made amazing breakthroughs due to his expertise and insight. Mark's caring attitude allows for open client communication. He was able to help support my weaknesses while building up on my strengths. I am now 165lbs and truly feel blessed to have the guidance from Mark. I'd recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

I had a great time at the Saturday morning kettle bell class. Mark was professional and personable. It was my first kettle bell experience and it was fun and challenging. He broke down everything and made it really easy to follow. I also liked that even though we were in a small group, there was lots of one on one attention to go around. Great place to check out if you are in the city or just passing through.
