About Shannon

I'm Shannon Eberly - Personal trainer, exercise physiologist and new mom. I've been a Personal Trainer since 2016, and have been an athlete since I could walk. Most importantly, I'm just a normal human who happens to like exercising and helping people learn how to like it too. I'm not a crazy fitness junkie who lives and breathes the gym. For that reason, exercise has never been an event or daunting task; it is just a part of who I am and my day-to-day lifestyle. My goal as a trainer is to show you how to do this. Sometimes when we think too big, we procrastinate or put things off for the future out of fear of failing, or just seeing how much work it's going to be.  Being an active person doesn't have to be difficult. One thing you can count on when training with me is that there will always be laughter, community, acceptance, and a healthier happier mind and body.

My experience began in a rugged basement boxing gym, getting trained by some of New York's best amatuer and professional fighters. From there, I've also worked with names such as Life Time, Orangetheory Fitness, and other boutique fitness studios in NYC. I've also participated in three full marathons, about a dozen half marathons, and other long distance races. Just this past year in 2023, I graduated with a Masters in Exercise Physiology, and also gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. My degree has professionally helped me specialize in special populations, such as prenatal/postpartum fitness, Senior Fitness, and Corrective Exercise. My recent pregnancy has allowed me to personally relate to others in the prenatal/postpartum population, but to also understand how to keep my mobility and fitness level when being physically limited.

I am here to make fitness a part of your lifestyle, and something that benefits you in every other aspect of your life.

My favorite client story

When I first started training, my first client was a young 27 year old female named Meryl who struggled with weight all of her life. Being overweight just became the norm for her. She weighed in at 220lbs when we first started. Although working out was not something she did regularly, this girl was fierce! When we first started, she could not hold her own bodyweight, and within months, we were doing bear crawls, full burpees and several stability exercises. After seeing each other 2 days a week for months, Meryl started adjusting her diet as well, and the weight started coming off very quick! The day she went under 200lbs, was the first time since she was in High School. I'll never forget her coming out of the locker room with fitted jeans and a tight black top saying, "Shannon, I have a waist!" Meryl just celebrated her 30th birthday. She is now 175lbs and looking more beautiful than ever. She is happy, healthy and living her best life.

My favorite exercise

A tough circuit! I'm that crazy girl at the gym with a short attention span running from station-to-station, slamming medicine balls, bear crawling to the next station, slamming ropes, and sweating way too much!

My favorite quote

"Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet." -Bob Marley

My training philosophy

Tough but patient. I'm here to change your life style; exercising is never temporary, it's a way of life.

Shannon kicked my butt!. I love working out with Shannon. Her workouts are appropriately challenging and have a ton of variety. She is very supportive but doesn't go easy on you. At the end of the session I'm soaked and exhausted!
