VerifiedAbout Anna
I majored in Communication Arts but have a passion for the health industry and helping others. I am an avid learner who always strives to improve and apply new knowledge in the health and fitness community. I always hold myself and my clients to high standards. I value responsibility and achievement and this allows me to be on time and prepared for each session with a client. I love working with others to help them reach their goals. I am empathetic and easy to get along with. One of the most important things in the health industry is making personal training personal. I work to tailor each plan to my specific clients. I enjoy developing close relationships with others and genuinely enjoy working with others to achieve a goal. Let's make your goals reality!
My favorite client story
I have so many great stories from all my clients but if I had to pick one it would be this. I had a 72 year old woman start training with me because her physical therapist had been on her about working out a bit more in the gym. She had 1 knee replacement and one bad knee about to be replaced. She lived with constant knee pain and had a job where she was standing most of the day so it was not getting any better. We worked together for 4 months in preparation for her second knee replacement and within 1 month of training she said her knee pain was getting better and very minimal even outside of the gym. Within 2 months she said her knee pain was completely gone with just 2 days of consistent weight training for 60 minutes a day. She tells everyone she can about how weight training has changed her life even at 72 years of age and no experience in the gym outside of the stationary bike before training with me. She has made a commitment to keep this up the rest of her life and I love it so much. Weight training can change so many people's lives for the better.
My favorite exercise
My favorite exercises are all definitely classic weight training compound movements like squats, bench press, and deadlifts. But if I am working out, my favorite exercise for me is deadlifting.
My favorite quote
Ask yourself if what you are doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.
My training philosophy
My passion and expertise in the personal training allows me to be a hands on and empathetic coach. I take my time to teach correct lifting techniques and make sure every client masters each technique before we move on to learn other exercises. My goal in the gym is not only to help others build better lives for themselves through fitness, but to the gain the confidence and independence in the gym that ensures they will succeed long term.
My training experience
I have trained others in person and online for fun for years but received my ACE Personal Trainer Certification in October of 2019. I worked as a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness Iowa City for 6 months while I lived in Iowa and as I moved to Tennessee, I decided to start my own personal training business.
