About Richard

My name is Rick Thomas, I'm an NASM-certified personal trainer who can take the confusion out of exercise and nutrition. I focus on merging your goals with my corrective exercise and functional fitness program in order to provide you with a foundation for success both within my program and beyond! Also, I personally own all the equipment necessary to do this, and I bring the gym to you! My passion to become a personal trainer really grew out of my own curiosity about nutrition, fitness, and health. Although I was an athlete in my younger years, my poor diet and lack of proper exercise caught up to me and by my early-mid twenties I was overweight and in the worst shape of my life. Fed up, I grew determined to find a solution to these problems. Along the way, I learned what works and what doesn't, and this experience, coupled with the extensive knowledge I gained while studying to become an NASM-certified personal trainer, gives me a unique perspective on health and wellness that I believe sets me apart as a personal trainer. My favorite client story

I recently trained a 16-year-old client named Megan. Megan took to the workouts and the nutrition adjustments very well, and within a month lost 15 pounds and reduced her mile run by three minutes! We had a lot of fun too. She made me race her on our last day, and I won, but just barely...literally a tenth of a second. So not only was I able to challenge her with my workout regimen, but she was able to challenge me by the end of the program!

My favorite exercise

Multi-planar lunge-to-balance. Challenges so much of the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex, including muscles involved in balance and stability, which makes it a great workout for corrective exercise and functional fitness.

My training experience

I am currently training between 15-20 clients, and have trained approximately 70 since I received my certification in July of 2014, with excellent results. Of course I'll always be training one client...myself. I've always been very active, but it wasn't until I received my NASM certification that I began doing things the right way. The results have been both visible and functional. I look forward to giving you the same kind of results.
