About Liela

Liela Betha is a multi-certified fitness professional and seasoned exercise and bodywork expert with over 18 years of work experience in her field. Over her long professional career, Liela has become a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Stretch Practitioner, Certified Nutrition Specialist, and her most recent achievement, Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist. Constantly striving for further education, growth, and career expansion, Liela immediately put her new certificate to work. In 2023, she joined the team of world-renowned scoliosis expert Dr. Andrew Strauss at the leading spine treatment center, working as the Head Exercise Specialist. Using The Strauss Method, Liela currently works with a team of specialists using complex techniques to improve the quality of life for thousands of patients looking to decrease their scoliosis, improve their spine health and avoid invasive, life-altering surgeries. She is currently working on a certificate in Medical Exercise to add to her resume. Having amassed copious amounts of knowledge and experience from holding such positions as community fitness coach, personal trainer, gym membership manager, corporate wellness professional, lead stretch practitioner/manager/trainer, scoliosis exercise specialist, and countless others, Liela is now ready to achieve ownership. Her short-term goal is to open and operate a fitness and wellness center in South Jersey, and to partner with other fitness, medical, and wellness professionals who are in alignment with her mission: longevity. The center will focus on teaching the fundamental physicalities, mental conditioning, and self-knowledge and awareness necessary to nurture and maintain longevity in the mind, body, and soul, which from her experience, has proven to be the foundation of what she calls “life success”. Liela has worked relentlessly throughout her own life and career, to become a model of this philosophy, and to positively impact all who cross her path. She is excited to take the next steps toward expanding her reach and increasing her impact.

My favorite client story

I had a client in Boston, whom I began training in her very small bedroom. She dealt with depression and anxiety, and the thought of training outside frightened her. Once she saw the amazing progress we were making, she not only requested that we train outdoors, but developed a love for the natural movement training that we focused on, which included running. Last month, she ran a total of 50k, and reached 35lbs lost. She is now in love with kickboxing and overall wellness, and it all started in a tiny bedroom.

My favorite exercise

Natural/functional movement, mobility, kickboxing, and traditional weightlifting exercises are my absolute favorite! I love exercises that tap into our natural human nature and rhythm.

My favorite quote

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."

-Nelson Mandela

My training philosophy

Find a physical activity that you love (basketball, yoga, golf, rock climbing, etc.), and train for that activity. Train for what you love and the life you live, and the aesthetic will build itself.
