About Lisa

I began my fitness career in the early 90's teaching jazzercise for Holiday Health Spa. In college I studied Biology with an emphasis on Anatomy and Physiology. I received a Holistic Health Practitioners License while studying my masters in Eastern Medicine. I incorporate all of my formal fitness training with my academic studies in both Western and Eastern Medicine to offer the very best professional and knowledgeable training experience. I blend life coaching into my sessions to  assure that it stays "peronal' in your personal training. I have been helping people become healthier and happier for the past 9 years in my studio, LisaFIT.

My favorite client story

I had a client who kept stopping on the spin bike around the 45 second time. I would stand in front of the handle bars cheering him on, telling him to keep going. His goal was to get to one minute without stopping or feeling like her was out of breath. Each time he rode the bike, 30-45 seconds into it he would start huffing and puffing and saying, "I can't do this - I am going to die!". One day I decided to stand next to him. I didn't cheer him on nor did I talk with him. I stood next to the bike, both of us facing the same way. I started the timer and I placed my hand on his hand. He pedaled and I inhaled and exhaled to match his breath. He ended up riding for almost 2 MINUTES. Sometimes it just takes someone next to you - not in front or behind but next to you to feel supported to make a change.

My favorite exercise

I love a wall handstand. It is the best to have my weight in my hands instead of my feet, to have my head below my heart. It requires everything to be strong and the mind to be clear. In order to do a handstand - you have to let go of doubt, believe in your own strength and just do it.

My favorite quote

Do or do not, there is no try - Yoda

My training philosophy

Be healthy and be happy - do the things that are going to invest in your long term health and happiness. Be consistent and find something that is realistic for the rest of your life.

My training experience

I have been in the fitness industry for three decades. I started with group exercise, merged into personal training and added the yoga training. Now I blend my life coaching with personal training because the art of being "personal" has been lost. I have trained every person from youth to the elderly, the sick and the recovered, injured and healed. For me - it is seeing the person for who they really are and looking past the "shell" that we hide inside.

Lisa is amazing. Not only has she changed my whole lifestyle, but I am actually enjoying the process. She challenges me further then I could ever challenge myself but doesn’t push me to the point where I don’t want to go back. My eating has become clean and flawless and my health has done a complete 180. I have lost 53lbs. She is the best!
