I grew up in New England in a family that was super giving of their time and energy and we were taught to always help others. I come from an athletic family who to this day, actively participate in daily sports! Being fit, getting outside and finding activities to help stay healthy has always been a part of my life. I have continued my love of sports and fitness with a passion for helping others achieve their best selves.
I started in the law enforcement field, where I taught defensive tactics and conducted fitness testing with the local law enforcement. Later, establishing the Department’s first self-defense program for women in the community. During my time in the Detective’s unit, I was drawn towards helping the women that I was coming across from domestic violence, sexual assault cases and so much more. After leaving law enforcement, I continued to find ways to give back to the community and teach how to maintain a healthy lifestyle while owning your confidence.
In 2008, I started my own business, Pure Romance by Caitlin, which is dedicated to teaching women about sexual health and wellness and providing them with a safe space to learn and talk about things that are often taboo and misunderstood. Through small women’s get togethers, one-on-one sessions and couples’ consultations, I have been able to help women claim their independence, confidence and sexual well being.
Throughout this time, I continued to realize how important physical fitness was to not only our physical well-being, but our emotional health as well. I started teaching group fitness and then in 2016, after moving from New Hampshire to San Francisco, I decided to become a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. For the last four years I have helped hundreds of individuals gain strength, lose weight, build confidence, fix chronic ailments, rehab injuries and regain their pain-free life.
Through Pure Romance, personal training, women’s self-defense and many other lifestyle modifications (nutrition, mindfulness, organization, etc.), I hope to help you become the best version of yourself that you can be. We must first fill our own cups before we are able to fill those of the loved ones around us.

By cleverly balancing encouragement and tough love, Caitlin taught my wife and I hundreds of new moves (from hiit bootcamp moves, to zuu, to olympic style lifting) and instilled in us a deep kinesthetic awareness as we went along. Not only did I become stronger and leaner everywhere, but my range of motion improved as well as my flexibility, my cardio endurance, my balance, my agility not to mention my form and my repertoire of moves. What was meant to be only a few months of training turned into years of training.

My training experience
I taught law enforcement defensive tactics, ran the fitness program for 6 years and also taught women's self defense to community members. After, I started teaching group fitness and then became a personal trainer, where for the last 4 years I was a Master Trainer within one of the biggest, most well-known gym companies in the world!

My wife started training with Caitlin late 2016 and I joined Feb 2017 in preparation for our wedding that same May. I had been lifting weights for roughly 17 years prior, where I had worked with trainers no more than a few months at a time. Caitlin completely revolutionized my perception of what a workout and a week of workouts should look like. She helped me unlearn my bad form around injury-prone exercises like Squats, Lunges and Deadlifts where I had suffered a few injuries in the past.
