About Karla

Over the years I have struggled with weight management.  I have found the perfect balance for me.  A combination of healthful eating (no diets for me), as well as exercise.  I strongly believe in the mind-body connection and that is why I have adopted an integrative approach to wellness.

Now, my mission is to help others incorporate mind, body, and life into balance.  Depending on what your goals are, my personalized approach will help you achieve effective weight-management, improved health, and increased quality of life as well as to find deeper meaning in your life.
My goal is to empower clients to adopt healthful lifestyle changes.  Healthful habits that are adopted, reinforced, and encouraged are the key to a client's success.

As a child, I always knew that I wanted to study Psychology and help people.  I was fortunate enough to attend the University of South Florida (USF), where I graduated with a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling.

I worked as a Mental Health Therapist until 2010, when I had my son and decided to stay home and raise him.  During that time, I trained as a The Bradley Method® of Natural Childbirth Instructor.  I've been teaching natural childbirth since 2011 and am currently an Affiliated Instructor.

Soon after, I started studying Yoga at St. Petersburg Yoga and graduated in 2014. I am currently also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200).

My passion to help people, and my understanding of both, mental health and the benefits of yoga and physical exercise led me to continue my studies.  I currently hold a Health Coach Certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

I look forward to meeting you!

Karla is phenomenal!! She has done wonders working with my mom (who is 82) and I wish we could work with her forever. I was trying to get my mom strong enough physically and mentally to actually go somewhere during the day so she could be around people rather than spending each day alone and Karla accomplished that. Karla encourages my mom to challenge herself while at the same time being caring and encouraging. In addition, she's very knowledgeable and from day 1, she walked in "with a plan" for my mom. Today is my mom's first day at our local YMCA, which provides a "community" of other seniors. I'm so grateful to Karla - her demeanor was perfect for us, she's kind, very knowledgeable, challenging, motivating and just a wonderful person. We feel lucky to have found her.

Karla was very professional. She listened and I’m sure will come up with a program that will work well for me. She gave me two doable tasks for the days before we meet again.
