My name is James Barnett but I go by JB most of the time. I have a Computer Engineering Technology degree, however 5yrs after getting my degree I found my nitch which is personal training. I worked for 24hr fitness for 14yrs as a certified master trainer. The past 2yrs I have ran my own business JB APEX FITNESS LLC. I have always been athletic and involved in sports growing up so choosing that path in my career has been one of my best decisions I have made. I love working with different kind of clients because its a challenge for me and I love to create new exercise programs for each client. It doesn't matter how old, young, beginner, rehab, post injury, core strength, total strength, over weight, obese, Parkinson, balance issues, enhance sports performance etc. Remember we are on this journey together and I won't let you down. The best part about training to me is when your client sets a goal and they achieve it. I'm also a national qualified NPC mens physique competitor.

I have been training with James Barnett for over ten years. I went to him initially as I was actively working to lose weight and get more fit. He was and is an integral part of that plan. We have worked together to strengthen all parts of my body, especially my core, which is so important as we age. We vary our workouts so all body parts get a piece of the action! James is a very empathetic person and is always in a good mood (even at 6 am!). I highly recommend him if you are considering using a trainer.
JB has been my trainer since 2016. Thanks to him I am soon to be 80 years old and am stronger and healthier than many 50 year olds. He is always attentive in our sessions, being the voice of reason when needed. He challenges me but prevents me from being injured by my own need to over achieve.
