I would say I didn’t start working out for the typical reasons people want to do so, i.e.; loose weight, gain muscle, or for sport performance. I have always suffered from extreme Depression and Anxiety, often going down sad and dark roads. While listening to some podcast they were speaking on the value psychologically working out and eating correctly can provide. I thought too myself, “Well, I’ve tried everything else.. what could it hurt.” and started trying to go to my local Planet Fitness. Eventually I found the freedom from a lot of the mental struggles I had and in turn did eventually loose a little weight. I always had a strong background in Customer Service and helping people and wanted to share my new love for fitness. I began with training some friends and then eventually becoming certified by NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as a Personal Trainer. I was then employed by a couple of different ‘big box’ gyms for around 2 years, but never felt like my morals aligned with theirs. I found pushing people into a binding contract felt greedy, and often times the prices being paid felt inadequate. I wanted to begin Simple Guy Fitness to offer a affordable and friendly approach to Personal Training. We offer Online Training, One-on-One Training, and Nutritional Guidance.
