About Kati-Lyn
I fell in love with nutrition and wellness after losing 30 pounds and joining the United States Navy. From there I instructed physical training for my unit and really learned how to push myself to become stronger. I was introduced to powerlifting, which I competed in for five years. I have always loved to educate and found a real love in training people. From my own weight loss journey, to pushing my strength and really appreciating my body, I enjoy helping women on their own path. I have worked with many different types of people, from 20 years old to 72 years old, from beginners to strength enthusiasts. I am also knowledgeable in prenatal exercise. If you want to get into powerlifting, I can help you there too! A typical session consists of a warm up/mobility, followed my resistance training/circuits, cardio/HIIT, and a cool down. Each session is catered to you individually.
My favorite client story
One of my favorite clients came to me very weak and with “gamer” posture. She wanted to build strength, especially because she was struggling at rock climbing. Within 6 months her posture improved tremendously, she was so confident and coming to the gym on her own, and was able to do 6 unassisted pull ups on her own. Those pull ups literally brought me to tears because I was so proud of her!
My favorite exercise
My favorite exercise is dumbbell incline chest press! That lift just makes me feel so strong.
My favorite quote
“I make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes” Sara Teasdale.
My training philosophy
Fitness is not a punishment - its a celebration. We are all capable of being strong and feeling our best. Everyone starts somewhere. It is important to not compare your day 1 to someone’s day 427... or even your day 427 to their day 427.
My training experience
I have been a certified personal trainer for six years. Prior to that I instructed physical training in the United States Navy for two years. I have worked with a variety of people - women & men, from all walks of life. I have clients who are new to exercise, and some who have tried many different routes. The youngest client I have trained is 20 years old, and the eldest being 72. Being certified in pre&postnatal exercise is empowering. People come to me to have a strong birth and great recovery. They also come to me because they’re ready to do something for themselves and feel good postpartum. You’re in good hands with me!
