About Ryan
About Me
I specialize in preparing people for the physical demands of the fire service, military, law enforcement, and other tactical careers. Whether you are preparing for a fire or police academy, military basic training of Officer Candidate School, a physical fitness test, or simply want to train like a tactical athlete, I'll build your training around the performance standards that actually matter.
My approach comes from more than a decade of expereince with strength and conditioning, and my service includes both as a US Marine Corps Officer and Firefighter/Paramedic. My background also includes sports conditioning, water survival instruction, boxing competition, and endurance events.
Training is focusing on strength, running performance, muscular endurance, work capacity, loaded movement, grip strength, and functioninal conditioning. For candidates, we will indetify the specific demands of your upcoming test or academy, and build your training around your current abilities, weakness, timeline, and availability of equipment. I also work with general fitness clients that want to train with more purpose.
My favorite client story
My "favorite" or "ideal" clients are the folks who come prepared and ready to WORK day in and day out. With this mindset, you could see results like a 2-minute reduction in 3-mile run time, an increase in pull-ups from 7 reps to 20 reps, and a 20-pound gain in lean muscle mass in a 4-month time frame, like one of my previous clients.
My favorite exercise
Pullups. They are simple and effective and can be done anywhere. They are a great measure of upper-body strength and extremely useful in tactical professions.
My favorite quote
Don't just exercise; train for something.
My training philosophy
I train with a purpose: to develop a resilient, high-performing body that excels in the real world. Whether you're sprinting up hills, crushing a deadlift, rucking for miles, or swimming under stress, every workout is designed to enhance functional strength, endurance, and mental toughness.

I've enjoyed the flexibility in my training regimen with Ryan. He incorporated my specific goals of gaining more muscle specially in my chest, shoulders, and biceps. His training style incorporates methods that are effective with my age using super sets, drop sets, and forced reps. Ryan thank you for holding me accountable to reach my goal!
Ryan helped me start losing weight after my career as a dancer finished and I started eating everything I see. Ryan evaluated me i.e weight, height, body fat% etc. and designed a workout for me. We worked together for a few months, no workout session was the same and it was my first time working with a personal trainer; Ryan is patient, knowledgeable, persistent, fun, friendly and a professional. I saw results almost immediately and it inspired me to keep going and pushing myself, I’ve lost 20 lbs in one year! Hire Ryan and you won’t be sorry, just sore and happy!
He is a really nice guy and knows what he is doing.
It can be a struggle as a single parent who balances work and a kiddo to find the time and energy to workout. I took the plunge and felt it best to setup personal training sessions to learn the correct form and also by meeting someone at the gym, it holds me accountable and keeps me motivated. Ryan has been wonderful and I’m so glad I signed up for a personal trainer! He’s flexible with my hectic schedule and he pushes me to step outside my comfort zone to challenge my body and I love the results I’m getting. I feel stronger and want to push myself further. Ryan knows correct form and is a stickler for it. He makes sure you are using equipment correctly, your stance is correct, position of your arms, and the motion of the exercise. This is so important as many gym goers have terrible form and don’t even realize it, which can lead to injury and prevent the results you’re wanting to see in your body. He’s personable and genuine, not a meat head either. We started with 30 min sessions 2x/week and now train for a 60min session 1x/week. He’s not on his phone or distracted when working one on one. Trainers can be expensive, but it’s worth it if you have one that actually cares about your goals and is dedicated to helping you get those results. I highly recommend Ryan!
Ryan was the best personal trainer I've ever had. He helped me get to that next level of fitness that I had been trying to achieve in the past few months. Being in the military, he understood my needs and tailored the workouts to those needs which helped me achieve my goals. Each workout lasted anywhere from 45 - 60 mins. During that time he was always focused and took his profession seriously. He also offered some great tips for outside the gym, i.e. recovery and nutrition.
What a motivator! Kept me working and kept changing it up. I experienced a lot of progress in a short amount of time with Ryan. CAUTION: He's a task master! Be ready!
Ryan has helped me reshape my body and my mind. I live with managing PTSD, depression, and a panic anxiety disorder. These disorders leave me with loads of insecurities and vulnerabilities. Ryan helped me boost my confidence through boxing and heavy weightlifting. With his support I’ve discovered that I’m a fighter and learned to never give up. I was already in good shape but thanks to him and his creative exercises I’ve achieved a level of strength and fitness I didn’t think I was capable of and now I’m in great shape; even doing pull-ups and I’m in my forties. Thanks Ryan!
I’ve been training with Ryan for about 3 months now and it’s been a complete life changer for me. I’ve gone from a sedentary lifestyle to hitting up the gym every day now thanks to him. Besides helping me with the workouts, he’s given me advice on everything from nutrition & supplements to Netflix shows. I highly recommend Ryan, especially if you’re new to fitness or trainers. He was very patient while I learned the various routines and made absolutely sure that my form was correct before we moved on. He was also flexible with my hectic work schedule. Lastly Ryan is super personable, very easy to talk to and ask questions. I’m able to text him for a quick arm workout while working late at the office for example. There would be a time for chatting and discussing weekend plans, and a time for burning out that last set. 20lbs down so far!
Ryan is an ‘A’ Player all the way! He’s helped me dig deeper both mentally and physically to achieve the results I’ve never been able to on my own. I always equate an hour with Ryan to a month’s worth of hitting the gym because his customized approach is highly form-focused, so you get the most out of your workout. Whether your goal is to shed a few pounds, build some muscle definition, or anything in between -Ryan’s got you covered. He’s given me great advice on diet and mental toughness, as well as proper technique on weightlifting, boxing, running, and core strengthening. If you’re a beginner or dealing with any limitations, I’ve learned first hand that he’s also willing to make any necessary modifications to help you build the strength and endurance you need to get to the next level. If you’re ready to kick some ass (and have fun in the process)...Ryan’s your guy. Give him a shot!
Every session is different which keeps me highly motivated. The sessions are interesting and pitched to the intensity level that I want. Ryan pushes my limits and is the best trainer I have ever worked with.
