About Matt

I have been involved in fitness in some capacity since I was in high school. I took a small step back during college, but got right back into it when I graduated from Eastern Washington Univeristy in 2005.

Personally, I love a good mix bag during a workout, but I will typically hit one muscle group a little bit more than the rest in a workout. I typically will create a similar style for my clients as well. Why get bored doing the same thing each time you workout? The change-up of a new workout will help you increase your enjoyment, as well as help you hit that goal in a more effective manner.

Outside of the studio I enjoy spending time with my family (wife, 2 kids, and one doodle-mix) at home or at the family lake cabin when we can make it happen. Love to hike, bike, snowboard and snowshoe, as well as just the basic home improvements and some video games.

My favorite client story

My favorite success story was taking an almost 40 year old dad of 8 who works from a home office and creating a fitness minded parent who not only got himself into shape, but systematically incorporated the healthy lifestyle into his family so they all enjoy skiing, fencing, a backyard obstacle course, and just a good workout. Not only that, his wife started training for triathlons after the birth of their last child and now she works harder than he does!

My favorite exercise

I love me a good deadlift or squat with a barbell!!

My favorite quote

"Backbone accomplishes more than wishbone."

My training philosophy

Work as hard as you can in the time you have. Something is always better than nothing!

My training experience

I've been a trainer for 18+ years working in small clinics, studios, and the big box gyms. I've worked with all ages, fitness levels, body types and all types of injuries and limitations. I truly believe fitness is for everyone!
