About Ivan

I've been a certified personal trainer for over 25 years and have been exercising myself for over 40 years. I was a wrestler and power lifter. My focus is designing very specific and individualized fitness programs for anyone from kids to the elderly and elite athletes. I help people become metabolically healthy through proper exercise modalities and nutrition. I'm a big believer in an ancestral way of eating because we were far more healthy when we were hunter gatherers. What we eat, how we sleep and move is what makes us healthy and strong. I want my clients to be athletic, quick, fast, flexible and have tremendous stamina and endurance. When working with elderly clients we work on balance, mobility and strength training. When working with young kids who play sports I believe in making the workouts fun. When working with athletes I focus on movement patterns that enhance their ability in their particular sport and design a program depending where they are in the pre-season or in season. 


My favorite client story

I had a client come to me who weighed over 350lbs. He seemed embarrassed and ashamed and I told him that he inspired me because he was taking that first step and I knew it wasn't easy. It was a busy Monday night so I took him in the back to a matted room and I told him our only goal at that moment was for him was to do 30 modified burpees. His eyes got huge and I reassured him he could do it and it was ok if it took the whole hour. So he he laid down and stood up (modified burpee) 5 times and was exhausted. I told him that was great and to rest and he was going to do another 2 and then another 2 until we got to 30 and he did it! He ended up losing 100 lbs in a relatively short amount of time. His effort and consistency were the key and I always told him how proud I was of him, especially on the days he just didn't want to be there.
