About Josh

I believe everyone has an adventure to take in this life, and it takes different shapes. You can want to run around with your grandkids, ski without pain, run your first 5k, lift heavy weights, bike 100 miles, or even just walk up and down the stairs confidently each day. Let's talk to see what your adventure is, and work together on a plan that fits your life. As a personal trainer I've seen a lot --> I've helped people finish ultramarathons, get strong, lose weight, learn to walk again, get out of back pain, improve blood work numbers, learn about basic health / wellness, and more. I have found a few fundamental tools and philosophies that apply to a vast range of people and goals. I'd love to teach you what I've learned over the years, and see how we can apply it to all you'd like to accomplish.

These days I'm in grad school working on my Doctorate in Chiropractics and a Masters in Clinical Neuroscience! To be clear, I cannot practice as a chiropractor at this time, but my education of the human body is taking off for the stratosphere. I'd love to apply the doctorate level science courses to training you.

My favorite client story

When I was 23 and just getting my career started I had a client who was severely concussed. She was in her early 60s and had trouble walking without looking at her feet or holding onto things. The first day we worked together she tripped and fell, and felt so embarrassed she wanted to leave the gym for good. Instead I asked her to sit with me and tell her about her life. We talked for the rest of our first hour together and she came back routinely twice a week. Over the course of 2-3 months she went from struggling to walk to carrying groceries up the stairs without holding the railing!

We regressed all of the basic exercises to a point she could do them with confidence, and then patiently built up her exercise complexity. It was my first experience helping to change the quality of a person's life to such a degree and I'll never forget it!

My training philosophy

Training and exercise should be a part of your routine the same way brushing your teeth is a part of your daily routine. I'll show you how to make your workouts hard enough to adapt and improve yet not so hard you can't exercise every single day.

My training experience

I've been training folks since 2015. In that time I've become a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a functional movement specialist, a Strongfirst Kettlebell Instructor, and gotten accepted to a Doctorate of Chiropractics program. I'm constantly learning and testing what I learn on myself.
