Sessions include a proper earm up and cool down. Due to my background in physical therapy I have a huge understanding for functional anatomy and how to improve wuality of movement. I also focus heavily on CORE STRENGTH: Having a stable core is important for preventing injuries and also for enhancing performance in sports and other activities. The core are one of the most active muscle groups in the body. Whether you are walking, running, playing tennis, or even the simplest of daily activities such as putting the groceries away, you are engaging your core muscles. They are a complex series of muscles that surround the spine and torso acting as a powerhouse to stabilize the entire body and a big part of my training to increase performance and posture and movement.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This morning I walked into a session with one of my oldest clients, a women in her 70s. I asked her how her weekend was and she told me she did lots of yard work. She continued to tell me that she felt better than she ever has doing it, got less fatigued, was able to work longer, and was able to get up and down better. She finished her workout today and said &ldquo;wow I would have never been able to do that a year ago.&rdquo;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Ive had a 25 year old working girl say she went to her spin class and felt like she could do the movements better because her core is now stronger. Or that her confidence is the highest it&rsquo;s been in years.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Ive had 32 year old mom of three tell me she&rsquo;s had so much energy after feeling like she&rsquo;s been tired for the last two years and Is running around playing with her kids more!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>I love what I do and do it because of comments like these. I don&rsquo;t work out JUST because it changes my body. I also do it because it changes my mind. I gave him some corrective exercises to help with his posture and he said he didn't need the back injections anymore...Anthony took prescription pain killers to fall asleep every night because his back pain was intense. He tried 10 different massage therapist's but he couldn't find any relief. After we started training together he didn't need his prescription pain killers to go to sleep anymore.</p><br><p>I specialize in quickly finding the source of your back pain and eliminating it permanently.</p><br><p>It is not your fault that you have back pain. My mom always told me to sit up straight and I tried but anytime I focused on something else my shoulders would always roll forward. My low back would get really tight just from holding my shoulders up for while standing.&nbsp;</p><br><p>6 years ago I found the reason why my shoulders were rolling forward and my low back was getting tense. It was because my hip flexors were too tight. I have been able to quickly help clients who have an over arched back relieve tightness in their hip flexors. Their back naturally flattens and over a few months and the shoulders start to sit farther back.&nbsp;</p><br><p>To achieve permanent relief from back pain I help people figure out why their hip flexors are so tight. Often the reason they are so tight is because their glutes were weak and my clients were sitting too much. <p>My own fitness journey and perspective of fitness<br /> <br />I was born in Greece and spent all my childhood in a small and beautiful town, full of history from ancient times. My hometown is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and thousands of olive trees. My dad was an accomplished athlete, competing with the Greek National team in the 3,000 meter steeple chase. He brought home several medals from competitions all over Europe. He was also honored twice to carry the Olympic flame for the Olympics in Russia and Mexico.</p> <p><br />Some of my earliest memories are working out with him at our personal gym, practicing and performing gymnastics, playing handball, snow skiing, mountain biking and competing in the 150 meter sprint. My whole life has been built around fitness and my great love for classical music. Since my childhood years I studied classic guitar, the theory of music and<br />synthesizing. I always had a battle between fitness and music, not enough time to practice both of my passions.</p> <p><br />After I finished high school I studied Management and Business Administration at the Economic University of Athens, as an attempt to get educated in a different aspect, one very useful in everyday life, even if it was never my dream or passion. It definitely gave me a great perspective of &ldquo;real life.&rdquo; I was fortunate to work for the biggest TV station in Greece as a project manager. I gained great experience and knowledge, but it was always something that I was good at, but never my passion.<br />In 2005, I moved to the USA and started a new chapter in my life, doing exclusively what I loved the most. I got certified as a Fitness and Kickboxing trainer. I opened my own fitness studio, Muscles On, where I am thrilled to train and meet with different people daily and help them achieve their own personal fitness goals.</p> <p><br />I am passionate about fitness and helping individuals to grow into what they have dreamt of becoming. I strive daily to embrace their true nature. Everybody is born with specific potential. But never, never underestimate the human ability for growth and change. Everybody is capable of moving forward and developing his gift. There are no limits; everybody chooses a different route for his trip. After graduating high school I became a dancer/go-go boy/stripper (whatever you wanna classify it as and hence the nickname Buttons) my body was on display and judged nightly as I worked to put myself through community college. It was such an interesting awakening to be so vulnerable and have my body on display in that way and it inspired me to get my first ever gym membership. <br><br>• I had major gym anxiety and went to 24 Hour Fitness so I could work out super late when it was empty. I hated going at peak busy hours (still do but now for different reasons lol) because I was intimidated and felt awkward, like everyone was judging me, and all those crazy social anxiety feelings a lot of us get. While I had no clue what I was doing at first, I took it upon myself to do the work and research as well. I eventually became more and more confident at the gym, saw some decent physical changes, and most importantly I really just FELT BETTER and ended up loving and looking forward to working out each day<br><br>•NOW, I look forward to sharing the knowledge I’ve gained with you all and hope to help inspire and actively take part in helping others reach their ultimate potential. When I was young I could barely run a few yards without losing my breath. I was clumsy, award and shy so that meant I was always picked last in gym class. Overall, you could say I was a pretty unhealthy kid. Then I read, "Cures They Don't Want You to Know" by Kevin Trudeau. This was my catalysis for changing how I thought about nutrition, which then lead to fitness. My first "job" (I don't consider training/coaching a job) was working at CKO teaching classes. As you could imagine this was not easy for me, I had to overcome my shy personality. There's an initial fitness assessment and medical history that takes place during the first session. The first session is 1.5 hours long but you only pay for the hour.&nbsp;</p><br><p>I start from where you are now (taking into consideration any injuries, or medical issues such as high blood, pressure, diabetes, etc.) to get you from point A to point B. As you master each step, I up the difficulty so you are always gaining results. The routines are varied as we continue and includes, warm up, strength training, aerobic endurance,&nbsp; rehab exercises if needed along with a 10 minutes stretching and cool down to increase range of motion and flexibility.</p><br><p>Although I can train clients from 19-90 years old, my main target market are those ages 35 -70 who are serious about their health. These people can be those who don't fit the "general workout routines" due to injuries (elbow, shoulder, lower back or knees perhaps??) and don't know HOW they can workout without hurting themselves.</p><br><p>They can be those needing motivation especially with new workouts geared to the 35+. year old body. They come to realize that weight does not come off as easily as it did in their 20's. They can be those needing accountability so as not to neglect their health while tending to their careers and many responsibilities.&nbsp;</p><br><p>I offer remote online training so I can reach more people. You don't need a lot of equipment so don't think, "Oh no, I don't have gym set up in my house!" There are ways to work out your body with equipment at hand (furniture, table, body resistance) and if you wish, the few pieces of equipment (should you wish to buy them) are not expensive.&nbsp;</p><br><p>As for me, I've been a certified master trainer since 2003. I have trained clients from 19-90, received certifications in stretching techniques and rehab, and have come across all types of people with all types of different personalities and fitness levels.&nbsp;</p><br><p>What got me started as a trainer? My own health and wellbeing took a hit at the ripe age of 26. Formally a track and basketball player, I found myself huffing and puffing after only walking a couple of blocks. I was a mom of 3 by this time.&nbsp; I decided to back into shape to feel better and as a result it not only got me in shape, but was a great stress outlet due to those lovely endorphins. It stuck.</p><br><p>I love to teach and I love exercise so I combined the two to become a fitness trainer to help others.&nbsp;</p><br><p>Ask me about an eating plan that is easy to follow, that doesn't have you buying tons of ingredients, but enables you to lose weight naturally!</p><br><p>This is offered as an accountability eating program. I have been a trainer for the past 5+ years and have worked in a commercial gym, strength gym and clinical setting at a physical therapy office. I am able to service a very wide range of clients from beginners to advanced lifters to post-rehab. My sessions are typically focused on making sure the exercises are catered to YOUR mobility/flexibility and I will never put you in a position that you do not "own." Meaning that if your arm can't go overhead without compensating, there is no world where I would ever give you a dumbbell for an overhead press. Sounds like a no brainer but you'd be surprised at what you see at the gym. <br><br>I value mobility and proper movement over maximal effort, but that doesn't mean I can't give you a good kick in the pants! I try to educate as much as I can during my sessions so that you are learning the "why" for the movements I am asking you to do. Realistically, I can't be with you for every workout so I want you to have the confidence to know that what you are doing isn't going to hurt you if you go to the gym on your own.
