About Marcus

In business since 1996. During that time I have trained over 30 NFL athletes, 1 NFL Hall of Fame, Olympic Silver medalist, NBA, MLS (soccer), lacrosse athletes, countless track athletes, and traveled with a professional tennis player as well as trained Division 1 teams in the sports of football, tennis, and soccer.


Luckily I say “yes” when it comes to coaches or people who are committed to accomplishing their goals with athletic performance, fitness, and overall improvement.


My range is from 70+ years old to 7 year olds. The one thing I have seen throughout my years of business: communication, honesty, and laughter is “grandma’s secret ingredient” to the recipe of success.


Personal accomplishments: Published author, professional actor with national show credits, stand-up comedian, and as an athlete I have been world ranked (top 5) as a master’s track athlete in the 400 hurdles and 200/400m events. I represented Team USA at the World Master's Track and Field Championships in '07 & '15.  I am a 5.0 rated USTA tennis player with a national ranking, #1 in the state of Mississippi, #7 in the South region in 2021.


A typical session will be based on your goals. I always focus on establishing a strong core through Pilates principles and work with my client on focus and balance to start a session. From there I will build your program from the goals you have set forth.


My favorite client story

Summer of ‘99: I was hired by my first NFL athlete. Wide Receiver who had been All-Pro once in his career. It was our last workout before he headed off to start the NFL season: 8 x 200m. Don’t worry if you’re reading this “is he going to make me do this?” People don’t work this hard anymore LOL. He for sure gave me that look “Are you crazy!”. He was making his times of 30 seconds just fine. HE’S FAST!
He started to sputter a bit and was not making his times. We are at the last rep (8th). He’s bent over and he doesn’t want to get up and do this last one. I had to remind him of the champion he is. I started to ask him questions I KNEW he would say “YES” to. “Do you want to be All-PRo again? Do you want to be MVP of your team? Do you want to be MVP of the NFL?….How bad do you want to lead your team to the Super Bowl Championship; don’t tell me SHOW me!?
He ran his last 200m in 25 seconds.
6 months later my client, Isaac Bruce, caught the game winning TD in the Super Bowl as the Rams beat the Titans and this was his only Championship in his NFL career.

My favorite exercise

Love hip flexor and abdominal work because of what these muscle do for the functionality of the body.

My training philosophy

Methodical. Start with center of the body and work your way to outside of the body. True strength starts at the center. From there you can master any movement.

My training experience

28 years I’ve said “yes” to a lot of scenarios and to a lot of different walks of life. I haven’t seen “it” all but if training is like a beer glass; I’m Octoberfest.
