About Reuben

My name is Reuben Weiner. I am a former Eco Tour Guide who struggled with my weight my entire life. I could never sustain a healthy diet despite being someone who was very active both in what I did for work and being a regular at the gym. During covid, the gym went away and my weight and mental health took a turn for the worst. A year and 55lbs later, I became a personal trainer because of that journey. I became keenly aware of how many people were trying to take the same journey as I did and were failing, and I want to change that narrative. I am not your drill sergeant tough love trainer. I am someone who has worked with people from all walks of life and someone who will be supportive, patient, and open minded about your plan of attack. In a typical session, we start with a light warm up, go into our main workout, and take our time to cool down at the end. I place a HUGE emphasis on education because my goal is not only to help you hit your goals but also to provide you with the knowledge to sustain your success!!!


My favorite client story

I have a 71 year old client who started with me back in September. He wasn’t in bad shape, but he was someone who was weary of weights and wanted to keep it light. We progressed from resistance band and light body weight work to deadlifting 100lbs in 6 months!!!

My favorite exercise

I’m a huge fan of Bulgarian split squats. It’s an exercise that requires you to work on balance, core strength, and can be made into a heavy lift.

I am a 42 year old woman who wants to continue on my health and wellness journey. However, consistency is somthing I really struggle with, I usually start strong and fall off after a couple of weeks. I started working with Ruben this past November and he talked to me about my goals and suggested powerlifting to me, honestly I thought he was crazy at first, me a 42 year old woman powerlifting. After some research, and the need to find something I could stick with, I said yes! A yr and half ago, year ago I had to have neurological surgery. I was advised, after I was cleared, to work with a trainer to help me recover completely all muscles and joints that were affected before and after the surgery. Reuben knew what would work to be able to be at my best and most comfortable and safest while working out. He was right.. He was exactly who I needed to get me back to, actually better than I was. Last spring and almost all of the summer , I couldn't garden. I'm back doing gardening landscaping and everything is fine.

I’ve been training with Reuben for 7 months now, and believe me he is one of the most committed trainers around. I started training once a week, as part of a group session, really enjoyed the variety & challenge he put into the sessions & then took on a one on one route. Reuben is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging and fun. I’ve seen improvements in my ability to complete each session and he has been there to wave goodbye to 25 lbs. I find I actually look forward to my workouts, even though I complain the whole entire time ha. But Reuben makes sure that my posture is correct to avoid any injuries. If anything is hurting, he will be careful with that. He is reliable, punctual and the best hands down!

I trained with Reuben for about a month. I was planning to do more heavy deadlifts and squats and wanted to make sure my form was correct on these exercises as doing them incorrectly could throw out your back. He taught me proper form and then filmed me on my phone to show how I was doing the exercises. I was able to feel confident that I could do these exercises properly on my own by the time I was done training with him. I would continue training with him if I didn't live so far away and if my job at my startup didn't keep me so busy. I highly recommend Reuben if you need a personal trainer.
