About Julie

Hi. My name is Julie and I've been doing personal training since 2019. I have a certification from ACE with specializations in Sports Performance and Behavioral Change. I have experience with both in person and online personal training. Prior to pursuing personal training, I was a police officer in a busy city in New York. As I was nearing retirement, I began to explore second career options. I have always had a love for fitness and sports. I played many sports growing up and attended college on a scholarship for Track and Field. I decided to pursue personal training because I wanted to share my passion for fitness with others and help others reach their fitness goals. I have had to overcome many adversities to include a torn ACL in the knee, rotator cuff in both shoulders, and have even beat breast cancer twice. I hold a special place for clients also learning to adjust and overcome injuries and individuals dealing with cancer and the side effects from the treatments. I would love to connect with you and help you reach your fitness and nutrition goals and better your life!

My favorite client story

I love seeing clients go from not loving working out to being excited for it. I had one client who wanted to begin strength training because they knew it was good for them, but hated putting in the effort and time to get it done. We started gradually with shorter workouts to ease into it, found the combination of workouts they loved, and gradually increased over the next few weeks. Within just a couple months they began to love lifting weights and looked forward to each workout.

My favorite exercise

My two favorite exercises are squats and shoulder presses. Mainly because as we age, the main things we will do is squat down and lift are arms over head, and these are the two main things that become more difficult as we age. I want to be able to do things well into my older age. So practicing these motions daily are a big part of keeping that flexibility and ability to do it.

My training philosophy

My training philosophy is consistency. No one is perfect. People will miss workouts and eat things they shouldn't at times, and that's okay. The key is to be consistent. When you are consistent with your workouts and nutrition, the occasional missed workout or piece of cake won't have much affect on your progress, if any at all. Consistency is always the key!

My training experience

I have experience working with elderly people, young people trying to get back into a consistent workout plan, athletes, and police officers aspiring to pass the physical test to get into an academy and be in good enough shape to get through the academy.

I have worked with Julie the last 6 months and have loved the transformation I've seen. She checks in with me almost daily and adjust things as we go. She ends easy to understand workout plans and videos of demonstrations if I don't understand it. Highly recommend!

I worked with Julie to work on getting more fit as I age. Her workouts where short and effective and easy to fit into my busy schedule. I highly recommend.

I was hesitant to get a “trainer”. I am not taking part in any bodybuilding contests. I wanted someone to tell me how to just get some exercise and feel better. Julie was great. She made it simple, showed me how to do it, and wasn’t pushy. I will stick with her for longer until I’m ready to manage alone. She’s great, give her a try. Thanks Julie!
