About Shannon
I have been involved in athletics my whole life. I am an ultra endurance athlete (running, swimming, triathlon). I grew up involved in gymnastics & track, & was originally a cyclist by necessity to get from points A to B. I have participated in organized sports since j.h. school. I possess a lifetime of training & teaching experience. I have several years training and coaching, and I have been teaching others for too many years to count. I have multiple certifications: Personal Trainer, Specialist in Exercise Therapy, Group, Etc. I also hold 3 degrees: MM, BS, BA. I have had my health struggles which allow me to relate to clients, as most of us have had struggles along the way.
I've seen my share of health issues, which led me to yoga and triathlon. Several years ago people began asking me for advice, & it worked for them, & I realized that this is 'teaching' which I'd been doing all my life. So I received certifications as a Group Trainer, Personal Trainer, and Specialist in Exercise Therapy. Then began helping others with their training & nutrition, & overcoming the obstacles of health & medical issues. I couldn't be more satisfied in my life. The 3 things I love the most: "Music, Pets, Fitness". All are linked by love & helping others. Who could ask for anything more?
My favorite client story
All of them. It is amazing & priceless to see a client complete a task (or goal) that they never thought they could! The joy it brings to the client is completely shared by me. And I've been there, so I completely understand how they feel.
My favorite exercise
anything & everything, but I guess if I have to pick it would be Running and Swimming. They are a FULL body workout (if done correctly, not a single muscle is left un-worked); and swimming is very low impact (so your joints aren't screaming later); high fat burning & body sculping. It's amazing :).
My favorite quote
My 3 favorite quotes: "Time wasted creating excuses is better served by creating solutions" Shannon Small. "To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream, not only plan but also believe." Anatole France. "Never get in the way of someone doing the thing you said was impossible" -Amelia Earnhardt
My training philosophy
This is a life style change! Physically, psychologically, nutritionally. Find what you enjoy and do it! You may not realize it now, but there is something that you enjoy!

Shannon has been by personal trainer and running & cycling coach for many years now. She has trained me to achieve many training and competition goals in weight lifting, running, and duathlon (run/bike). I have been able to lose weight and develop more lean muscle. She has taught me how to eat better to achieve my goals as well. I can't imagine my life without her guiding me toward my fitness goals. I have regained my quality of life thanks to Shannon! I highly recommend her as a trainer and coach. She will help you create a healthy lifestyle change to live a long and healthy life.
Shannon Small is my personal trainer and running coach. She adapts to my body requirements as needed. I'm running better, losing weight, eating better, etc. She's amazing. Results are great! I would recommend her to anyone. Love her!
I was in search for a running coach for the Texas Bridge Series. I was getting out of a period of doing very little cardio and only running about one mile a day. Shannon Small has helped me tremendously! She has taught me to pace myself and now I fully enjoy running! I used to suffer from side pains and would never breathe correctly but Shannon has worked with me in those areas. My side pains are almost completely gone and my breathing during my runs is a thousand times better. Shannon is very knowledgeable and will take training at a comfortable pace to avoid fatigue and injuries. I highly recommend training with her!
The find your trainer app was really helpful in helping me find a personal trainer in my area who could help me meet my needs. Shannon seems to be a great trainer, very encouraging and knowledgeable.
Shannon is a great trainer. She has helped me with my nutrition as well as overall fitness training. I hadn't thought about nutrition much previously but once we got this on track it really made a difference. I have learned that training and nutrition go hand in hand. I feel better and am leaner and stronger. I had my first race on the 4th of July, 2023 and did great! Thanks Shannon!
