About Alana

Manhattan-raised and Jersey-made, Alana calls both sides of the Hudson home. The Rutgers alumna discovered her affinity for athletic performance at a tender age, beginning with her run as a competitive figure skater. The sport demanded rigorous training both on and off the ice, requiring 5AM wake-up calls to hit the rink and race to school, barely beating the chime of the bell. She was introduced to various methods of fitness through conditioning for competitions, including ballet, calisthenics, mobility training, as well as pushing sedans over the speed bumps lining the Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers parking lot. Needless to say, those were the days.

Also a lover of academia - or in laymen's terms, a nerd - Alana put down her skates to focus more on her studies, eventually earning a full academic scholarship to Rutgers University. The discipline for fitness and the ideology that it is not an option, rather a requirement for leading a happy, mentally-sound existence has been ingrained in her ever since.

Throughout all of her professional endeavors - and there have been many, from sales to TV production - fitness and mindfulness have always been a top priority. Alana believes that exercise is a fundamental tool for improvement, and that when you challenge your physical body, the benefits bleed into every other area of your life, especially mentally and spiritually. When you begin to consistently take care of your body, i.e. your instrument, and push its limits, other self-imposed limitations and fears seem to simultaneously dissipate, and therein lies the magic.

Alana has chosen to pursue a career as a fitness professional simply because she wants to help people manifest the greatest versions of themselves. Her favorite techniques and modalities include HIIT, boxing, swimming, yoga, kettlebells, barbells, and TRX. She is dedicated to learning as much as she can to blossom into the best trainer that she can possibly be. Although being a trainer is about you, our valued client, the gig's not as selfless as it may seem. When you get better, we get better. So let's get better together.

Training session was perfect,a blend of workouts to push me while listening and ensuring no injury as I am still recovering a bum ankle. Look forward to achieving my goals and Alana will be a huge part of my plan.

Alana is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to fitness, our bodies and has a vast collection of exercises that she brings into my workouts. I have a few injuries and it's been very comforting to have Alana acknowledge those and have the ability to incorporate substitute exercises that will still work my muscles - but in a different way as to not further injure my wrists and my lower back. I work out with Alana 3-4 times per week and I'm always looking forwarding to my sessions with her and once I'm done, I can't believe the hour flew by! Alana is super communicative, she keeps my workouts fun and dynamic and I'm always sweating by the end. A truly nice person who is incredibly funny and really puts the "personal" in personal training. I have been working out with PTs for the past 17 years and Alana is definitely up there as one of the best!

Alana is legit the best trainer I have ever worked with. She is motivating and kind without being a push over. She is also VERY knowledgeable about fitness and the human body. I felt like she didn't just look at me like another person trying to lose weight and instead took in me as an individual. She really helped me to learn things I can do at the gym without feeling like an idiot and she helped me gain the confidence to do those things and not worry about what other people think. Alana is all around a great trainer and motivator. I felt heard, respected and challenged by her and look forward to continue to workout with her!

Alana is super fun! I really was not expecting it to be fun with a trainer but she is really into what she does and does not take any BS! She really gets my blood pumping and her techniques are great. I feel stronger every time we work together. It’s only been a few months but I’m pretty sure I’ll be working with her for many many years. High work quality, professionalism, punctuality, value, and responsiveness.

I first met Alana when she was subbing for another trainer. I thought that she was so good i wanted her to train me over my current trainer! Then down the line that eventually happened. I have some hip and back issues- she is so great with our workouts and making sure to take that into account (while kicking my ass nonetheless). I've already seen progress in our few sessions and feel amazing! shes fun and great to work out with. I have worked with various trainers throughout the years and i can recommend Alana undoubtedly!

Working with Alana has been a movie-montage perfect experience of working with a trainer. That's not to say our sessions are easy – but Alana really, truly listens to her clients and adjusts accordingly. For example, I told her I really didn't want to incorporate burpees because they hurt my body (in an actual pain way), and she's found other exercises that target those same muscles. For the first time in a long while, I'm feeling strong in my body, and working up to doing pushups (aka my nemesis) actually feels like a joy instead of an arduous task. Alana makes working out be something super positive, both in her sessions and the overall journey. (Oh, and this has all just been through virtual session!)

My husband and I LOVE working out with Alana. She’s so fun and funny, and kicked our butt every time. She makes us feel comfortable right off the bat. She’s also great at observing and taking feedback and incorporating a variety of workouts into our routine. My husband used to have back pain and since we started working with Alana, a lot of his chronic back issues have gone away. She’s all about correct alignments as well. If you are looking for a well-rounded no-nonsense awesome trainer, look no further! Even VIRTUAL training sessions with her over google hangout are great. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Alana!
