Hi there! My name is Danny Cortes, and fitness has been my passion and my life's work. With over 15 years as a personal trainer, 30 years of martial arts experience, and an associate’s degree in Exercise Science, I’m here to help you reach your health and fitness goals safely, effectively, and with the best results possible.


My journey in fitness began as a youth athlete, martial artist, and high school football player and wrestler. Over the years, I’ve expanded my expertise by earning certifications in personal training, strength and conditioning, and group fitness instruction from top organizations like SUNY OCCC, the National Council on Strength and Fitness, and the YMCA.

My favorite client story

One of my clients came to me at a turning point in her life. She weighed 225 lbs. and was on the verge of needing blood pressure and cholesterol medication. Determined to take control of her health, she reached out for help, and together, we embarked on a life changing journey.

We started slow, focusing on building a foundation. I guided her through manageable workouts twice a week while helping her review and adjust her eating habits, including improving her water intake. She also committed to coming to the gym on her own to keep up her momentum. By the end of the first year, she had lost an incredible 50 lbs., bringing her weight down to 165 lbs. Her goal was to reach 145 lbs., so we set our sights on making that a reality in her second year.

Year two was all about taking things to the next level. We increased our training sessions to three times a week, pushing harder while navigating challenges along the way. There were plateaus, moments of frustration, and times when she doubted herself—but giving up wasn’t an option. I dug deep, re-evaluating her program to find new strategies that would keep her progressing.

And it worked. By the end of her second year, she lost an additional 25 lbs., totaling an amazing 75 lbs. in weight loss. She hit her goal of 145 lbs., and the transformation was more than just physical. She was overjoyed not just because of the weight she had lost, but because she no longer needed medication and felt healthier than ever.

What stood out most was her newfound confidence. She walked taller, not just because she looked great, but because she felt unstoppable. She realized she could conquer any challenge she set her mind to, and that kind of empowerment was priceless.

My favorite exercise

Split squat with a neutral grip overhead press using tube resistance bands. I chose this exercise because it targets your shoulders, triceps, quads, hamstrings, glutes and core. So this move hits up your upper body, lower body and midsection helping burn more calories toning your muscles. One of the best combination exercises that melts fat right off giving your muscles definition and increasing your strength.

D'Artagnan "Danny" Cortes is the best at what he does --everything to bring you to your personal highest level of health and fitness. I have hypothyroidism and was completely frustrated with trying to lose weight, and resigned to the fact that it was impossible because of my thyroid disease. I had worked out on my own and with other trainers, but I just didn't get results to be excited about. As soon as I met with Danny, he made me try things that I would never consider doing -- like jumping over a bench! He knows what is possible for you as his trainee soon after meeting with you and asking a few questions about goals and lifestyle. He then gets to work finding out the exact types of exercises to incorporate into his training that will work for you. His goal is to make you fulfill your greatest physical condition potential, and he does! Whether he is leading a group class or guiding a personal training session, Danny gives it his all in maximizing return on your investment of time and money. Even my doctor had said that while I might lose a few pounds now that my medication was regulated for my thyroid, I would have a difficult time taking it off and keeping it off. That has not been true since I started training with Danny and even my doctor is amazed by the results he has brought for me. My goals became his goals and he was determined to make sure I overcame my challenge. He incorporated metabolic conditioning into my workouts, which was exactly what my sluggish thyroid needed to kick it into gear! Any weight that I still need to take off now is simply because I slack off on my end of the deal with watching my food and wine intake! I am 57 years old and I am incredibly strong from head to toe. That is the key with Danny -- every workout is a full body workout. We maximize our time together (one-hour session twice per week) because he guides me through a workout that hits every muscle in my body.
